Ok so one thing to note at the end, the game does not count overflow damage towards the end damage summary, what that means is if you do just 1 total eclipse on 1 enemy with 50 health, even if the number shows 1000 damage the damage for total eclipse at the end will only be 50. Since blitz hits after everything else the numbers on blitz will look somewhat worse, but if you look at it as finishing enemies off quicker since attack+special is one motion anyways, blitz is still quite good

So, I theory crafted a build for this aspect combining Demeter and Hephaestus. Demeter special and Hephaestus attack, using Demeter to freeze and then Hephaestus to reset the freeze using their duo boon. If you pom Hephaestus then it might become kind of wild, but it is effectively an infinite freeze build (in theory) since Hephaestus resets the cooldown of being frozen

i tried this and unfortunately the duo doesn’t just reset the re-freeze timer, it unfreezes currently frozen enemies, if you have a maxed hephaestus attack it makes it really hard to actually keep enemies frozen because they just keep being unfrozen. demeter attack and hephaestus special might be good if they reduce the cooldown on the hephaestus special in the next update so it reapplies freeze as soon as the freeze is cleared.

@@hendiniupdate: i just tested a heph special + dem attack build and unfortunately that doesn’t work either. it seems the blast from hephaestus has enough of a delay that the freeze effect still triggers first and is immediately cleared by the blast.

@@wrenclements1865 what if you don’t always use the Heph stuff but always use the Demeter stuff. So you wait for the Demeter freeze to go off and then use heph… it’s lower damage, yeah, but perma freeze

Some aspect are very heavily inspired by old aspects, Medea being Beowulf, Melenoe new axe aspect being a mini Arthur, Pan aspect is Chiron but instead of hitting the enemy you get him inside your cast, old Momus being similar to Zag Spear. If we never get to play as Zag let us at least use some weapons that are kinda similar to his

Possessed Hammer was also really nice with the old Persephone aspect. You charge the Glory with your attacks and when you omega special through the enemies you pick up the skulls. Especially with Hera on the special

tried the same loadout but with static shock, and I was shocked how much damage it does. usually static shock is never more that 10% of all the damage, but with skull it was the second second biggest source of damage after attack, even more than blitz. both blitz and static shock where rare, and I pommed blitz couple of times.

Day 2 of asking for this super niche build: I'm a long-time lurker and fan and I just got this sweet build after several tries. It centers around Poseidon cast with the dark side hex and the Momus aspect. There's a path of stars upgrade for dark side that allows your normal cast to be treated as your omega cast. With Poseidon cast this means your normal cast detonates instantly, allowing you to cast again. Basically it just chains Poseidon cast damage over and over while taking no damage. Where this gets craaaazy is with new Momus. While normally I've noticed Momus only allows for one of the red orbs that repeat the omega move per type of omega move (one for cast, attack, and special), while dark side is active, there is no limit to the number of repeating casts. So basically repeating geyser nuke. Would love if you could make a video on it!! Some of the most insane damage I've done.

Possessed array was already quite good imo on medea and was part of my first 32 fear clear. Didn't realize it got buffed to remove the delay. Will make it feel a bit better without having the +2 shell hammer, which mainly was just a convenience hammer that made the delay less annoying when clearing standard rooms and you'd prefer something else anyway.

Why would Aphrodite attack be bad? Highest +% possible, and on some aspects poseidon duo boon applies the +% damage no matter the distance. And, correct me if I'm wrong, but Blitz disappears as soon as you deal 120 damage, giving origination for only first of the 3 shells, if you load all shells at once (especially great with "quick loading" hammer). It may be fine for a 1 shell at a time playstyle, but 5 shells + quick loading + apollo double attack + aphrodite attack (+200% damage) melts enemies. I prefer appliying origination with a cast anyway for bonus +30% damage and cos demeter(cyclone, not frozen)/aphrodite are great for crowd/projectile control. Since you want to be close to enemies with Medea anyway, cast-in-place is fine before Hades cast throw.

@13:14 You could have taken the chaos gate, it adds a room to the biome in this situation similarly to Hades 1 (so you get the shop afterwards anyway). Happened to me a few times (Unless Chaos is not worth the few sec loss to take:P)

Yeah I’m pretty sure speed runners don’t take it because of the time loss. usually they only take chaos gates because it counts as the next room, making the overall region shorter. This is especially helpful in fields, which is why they rolled for the ixion before fields

Glad you love this aspect too, easily my favourite in the game and very strong too considering I managed to clear Fear 50 with it. It's currently both at the top for fear clears and speedrunning so Medea fans simply stay winning lol. Good vid

I was already taking Posessed Array. It was pretty good already before the patch (free omega attack as well). The delay could be bypassed with the Sorceress arcana. Not vs Chronos obviously but it turned out to matter way less than i expected. It might be the best magic-free build now. Mel Aspect, Exceptional Talent, Weed Killer, Keen Intuition, Bolstered Array.

Very new to these Hades runs - I always assumed the death at the start was just merely coincidental, to show this as being in a sequence of runs. What does it mean for a run to be "unseeded", and how would one seed a run if they wanted to do so?

Hitting Give Up from the main menu just rewinds time to just before you started the run, so if you start another, you can* be offered the same things and thus know what's in every single room. To prevent this, a death is shown which randomizes the next run seed. *It's very difficult and time consuming to "map" out a seed to force the same chambers/rewards every time but it is possible.

im curious why you wouldidnt take some HP hearts to a degree or some ways of boosting hp. Thus pushing 30 HP into your >30% HP strength arcana ratio. Allowing you to always have 50% dmg & 50% dmg reduction while being at 30hp for white antler. Sure its annoying when you get fountains to force yourself to get hit. But whats the point of the Strength arcana if its when you only have 9hp or lower?

Why does showing death prove unseeded mean? What does unseeded in Hades mean?

Unseeded in hades means that the RNG (random number generator) of the game hasn't been modified in some way to benefit the player (so the next room's reward hasn't been pre-programmed to give player ideal items and pathway). By showing the death (or victory of previous run), it shows the set-up area of the next run and shows that the run is unseeded. (I don't know the nitty gritty of it. I'm just explaining the gist.)
