@@elizabethmarcelena Hi, thank you so much for asking! I recently just got past my first year as a teacher teaching 5 year old children and I am into my second year. Everything about being a teacher is so exciting for me so I find the same feelings as I watch your videos and love them a lot. 💕✨ There were also a lot of uncertainty (and mistakes I made) along the way but your video made me felt relatable and reassured ❤️

Congratulations for making it through your first year! 👏🏻😘 Tbh it never stops being challenging-- I used to overthink a lot about my mistakes (even the tiniest ones), but eventually I learned that as long as you're doing your best for your students and they feel seen, heard, and loved, everything else just follows and falls beautifully into place 💗 Where do you teach?

Hey, this and awkward question but I say your a day in life of a teacher video when you were at your old school. What video did you use at carpet time for like a good morning song that taught them time and like the days and years?

Hi Jennifer! Thanks so much for watching! 😘 Do you remember which specific day in the life video that was?

Could you share more about the badge system
@elizabethmarcelena3 жыл бұрын
Hi Samantha! Each badge corresponds to a different skill-- these include math, language, social emotional learning, practical life skills, etc. The students can pick the skills he/she wants to work towards, and if they pass the assessment, they earn a badge! They get the badge during the badge ceremony at the end of our session, and it's such a fun way to motivate the little ones ❤ Do you teach as well?

Hi, does your new school have learning corners?? Was a fan of your video since your old classroom tour where there was the tinker corner, literacy corner etc
@elizabethmarcelena3 жыл бұрын
Hi Wen!! My current studio set up has more of a flexible seating arrangement going on, but we do have a calm down corner (for social emotional learning), and we have designated tables for math, ELA, and art!

This doesn’t look like an authentic Montessori classroom.

Hi Catherine! Acton Academy isn't a Montessori school, but it leans heavily towards the Montessori method
@alyssastahl2073 жыл бұрын
@@elizabethmarcelena In what ways does it lean heavily toward Montessori? I think it would be helpful to your viewers if you made a video explaining how your approach uses (and does not use) Montessori principles. Using the term Montessori to describe your classroom misrepresents Montessori and may give your viewers an incorrect impression of what Montessori truly is. I understand that you’re not a trained Montessori guide and that you’re at a new (and very unique) school. I’m sure you’re learning so much and I think it would be wonderful if you were to educate the viewers about the unique program Acton Academy has developed. From my understanding, although some of the core principles were inspired by the Montessori method, It is very different in practice.
