This Week in Travel: How airline liveries are painted

One of the least talked about things outside of the airline industry is airline liveries. Aside from some famous paint jobs that have sparked much discussion, most people often don't care what the outside of the plane looks like, as long as they get from point A to point B safely.
Like many things in aviation, painting a plane can get pretty technical. CNC3 News producer Brent Pinheiro and cameraman Timothy Chasteau got an exclusive look at Caribbean Airlines' process as the local carrier begins to paint its ATR fleet. Fun Fact: The hummingbird design on the side of a Caribbean Airlines ATR requires approximately 5.6 gallons of primer and paint.

Easy to say when CAL is the only real airline in the Caribbean. It USED to be one of the best looking airlines in the world. Just look up any aviation websites and forums. They've gone and ruined it. Somehow in modern Trinidadians minds...changing how a product looks improves it. Odd.

Should have kept the beautiful White, Green and Purple. Whoever idea it was to change it to this horrid pink livery is a fool. Also...changing the livery every 5 to 10 years to "rebrand" instead of enforcing world class customer service in order to attract more customer will not change the broken culture within CAL. BWIA back innthe 90's was world class. And while I am at it...those responsible for selling the LHR slots worth tens of millions of GBP are traitors against Trinidadians. The way the airline is ran indicates how poorly the country is ran.
