I respect it for its history and being a classic; but at this point I feel it does almost nothing for their lineup other than being a token wooden coaster. On the other hand, Gemini is both a classic and still a good coaster.

a GCI in place of Mine Ride. a Gerstlauer in place of Corkscrew. those 2 are older than Gemini. I rode Gemini on Sunday and I was surprised that it wasn't horrible. also, I'm so old that I remember when Corkscrew and Gemini were both new

Yes Gemini is still a very good roller coaster and I hope they can keep it. I’m just not sure how likely that is. But I would much prefer them to remove CCMR instead.

I have a feeling Cedar Point's next coaster is gonna be a large family coaster along the lines of Big Bear Mountain. 5:50 the same extreme spinner was actually in Cedar Point's recent survey too

It does seem like the whole large family coaster thing is becoming very popular. Big Bear Mountain is even the longest coaster at Dollywood.

I agree completely. There are a small number of people who claim HP has caught them though which is a claim I don’t agree with. And of course there’s also Magic Mountain but it feels like people aren’t very high on that park right now.

A mack Stryker like voltron would be a better fit. As there is no dark ride. Gerstlauer infinity may not happen,capacity is horrible on those.

I agree with that the striker coaster it has really good capacity, which cedar point really needs.

Enough people chimed in about Blue Streak, so I'll leave that one alone. Older coasters are moddy and im sorry you had a bad ride (Ive had MANY over 30yrs of riding it) its generally way better than i feel your experience has been. Dang... did it anyway😅 My commont is the teeth grinding CRINGE when informed enthusiasts say CP is out of room. Have you seen Grona Lund? MOA Nick? Even Kennywood? Shambala and Dragon Khan? Not to mention the now vacant frontier land big enough for a whole new park area by itself. And that's not including just building over, around and through, and on top of other coasters like Rougarou, and Iron Dragon in the same park. CP has room for DECADES without having to remove a single coaster! And of course, everyone predicts a ride they personally dont like has to go... but they dont and shouldnt if Cedar Point wants to regain a record coaster count. Every coaster revered as historical (even if they suck *Leap the Dips*) made it to that point to that point because they were kept even though they were outdated, even though there were newer models, even though they take up space... Its vexing that so many COASTER ENTHUSIASTS are so quick to hope something never gets ridden by future coaster lovers and wish they got to ride past coasters at the same time. At 42, I probably rode a good few defunct coasters and closed parks many will only see in pictures.... Why is everyone so quick to want that for others if they love coasters so much

I wouldn’t mind if they found a way to keep Gemini at all. I really enjoy that coaster. Although, I would prefer a Vekoma Flying coaster to a B&M. I haven’t ridden F.L.Y so I can’t say for sure, but that coaster looks to be a notch above the B&M flyers in the US I think. Maybe if the B&M Flyer were more like Flying Dinosaur…

Somehow I dont see Gerstlauer as a new outstanding ride. This manufacor is just so „mid“. (They have just Not so many great coasters. The most Are very rattly. I mean even schwur des Kärnen is rattly. And this is the outstanding coaster of gerstlauer.) But mack I would just love. I think also That a Stryker coaster would fit. Disney, Universal and Cedar fair were at a event of showcasing Voltron.

Perhaps I just have a higher opinion of Gerstlauer because I’ve ridden Monster so many times; and I absolutely love what they did with that coaster and I would even call it elite. That being said, a Stryker coaster would also no doubt be an incredible addition.

Cedar Point will not be getting a new coaster for at least 7 to 8 years. Look at the disaster that is TT2. Also lets remember, they are now ghetto Six Flags. There is no competition. They no longer need to build record breaking coasters. There is no reason to spend that money. Also you are wrong. Rougarou opened in 2015 not 2016. Get your facts right. Corkscrew will be removed and not replaced. Again, they dont have to. They just took all their competition away.

I would disagree. Cedar Fair owned the Ohio market anyway between Kings Island and Cedar Point, but they still continued to build new coasters for the last 15 years. I certainly hope that trend continues and I think it will.
