Forget the Light Novel read the Web Novel instead it has more content

I wouldn't say that's a good idea if he's not going past the anime, the first arcs don't have full translations and WN arc 4 is so much bigger than its light novel counterpart, it can get boring to get through it. Not saying there's no value in reading the web novel, but the light novel is much more digestible and it could get jarring to switch midway through since so many details from arcs 1-4 on the web novel have become non-canon on the light novel later on (such as Emilia meeting with Sekhmet on the 3rd trial, Subaru being much creepier during the first arcs and many, many more.)

@@GodotBlend_wh4t Light novel is translated horribly, and while you're right that the WN translations are incomplete in certain areas, those incomplete translations still unironically solo any of the LN translation. Also, arc 4 WN is easily considered the best adaptation of Arc 4 between the anime, manga, and LN. It being longer than it's counter parts isn't a point against it.

@viaaropyzon3367 Oh yeaaah, completely forgot about the english LN translation quality, I was spoiled with the portuguese novels. You got a good point. I guess it's more of a matter of opinion, but the sheer length of WN arc 4 definitely made it very hard for me to get through some phases despite me enjoying every single second of it (Some of the bigger Re:Zero chapters can definitely get exhausting to read through all at once, imo). I believe it was worth it, but my recommendation of the LN was made on the basis that whoever was reading wants to go deeper into the Re:zero story without dedicating a few weeks (or even months) into a single arc.

@@GodotBlend_wh4t I definitely can see arc 4 WN taking someone weeks or even up to a month, but multiple months seems unrealistic unless you read at a very slow pace imo tbh.
