I didn't want to make this style of video as I don't want to give these people any platform but this needs to change fast before it's too late! One thing I don't have yet (as a relatively new drone pilot) is a good piece of software for post-processing my videos and pictures - something that I could plug the Luts into, for example. Might you be able to suggest a few software products with robust features that'd be at that "highly enthusiastic noob" level? Thanks! ~Ray

Your spot on Darren, they make me sick the way they go on. Like a lad said before, the CAA should just put a blanket law on these auditors. There just out for an argument and for viewers to watch and like them. STOP THE AUDITORS NOT THE GOOD LADS who want a drone to take stunning pictures like yourself. I haven’t followed yourself to be stopped by these idiots. I watch to learn and bide by the laws. No drones should be aloud over prisons, airports, police stations, industrial working areas, and offices. You don’t need pictures of these places.

You are correct but also so wrong at the same time, your frustration needs to be elsewhere not on those exercising their rights and evidencing how quick people moan about everything. As long as those individuals have a license, insurance and are not doing anything actually wrong then they are well within their rights to fly over a biscuit factory if that's what interests them or their audience. The problem we have is we are living in a time where our freedom's are being taken away not by so called auditors but by the Karen's who don't care if you are well within your right to do something they don't like it so they will ruin it by demanding the law is even more stricter. The solution is to increase fines for people that waste police time. Make the law require you have a CAA pilots license to buy a drone and to fly the drone via software checks. It's not hard to API the drones controller with the CAA and validate the pilot before take off. Also every flight is recorded and saved to cloud.

While I can still get out and about I plan on traveling around my spectacular country and filming/photographing as much as practical. Hopefully I will eventually be putting the adventures online for everyone to see. The cook and myself are planning a trip right through the center of the (Australian) outback with a lot of side excursions along the way. Something only a small handful of people ever get to do. So it will be nice to share what we see. Our faces and voices will never be shown or heard, just spectacular imagery and music, No food, no children, no holiday parks, just Australia at its best.

I don't think it has anything to do with "the actions of a few" - it is a national security concern because they are a Chinese company operating things that can spy on people and places. I love DJI and their products but if you are an honest person you have to admit there is huge potential for these things to be misused by the Chinese government, who are not very trustworthy so when they say "oh we aren't using DJI's data for anything" it's kinda like, yeah sure. That is the issue. I wish this wasn't the case because I don't want to give up my drone and I love some of their other products too, but I don't know how to solve this problem.

Sadly more than just a license is needed. In most places you need to get a permit for a specific day/time weeks or months in advance. That permit usually requires including insurance coverage for minimum $1,000,000 on upwards. The restrictions (regardless of one's registration, license, and part 107) essentially make it cost prohibitive to operate a drone legally. That's how they are going to kill legitimate drone usage by making it cost the operator $$$. Ultimately all these restrictions will really do is kill off those of us that want to abide by the laws leaving those that don't care about laws to flourish and continue with the drone flight abuse. I have a Mini 4 Pro under 250g and it's potential to hurt anyone or any structure or vehicle is close to zero (collision sensors would prevent it).

Amazon wants consumer drones out of the air space which they consider to be there. And they want to make sure that consumers can’t compete with them for Drone delivery which would be very easy without banning consumer drones. It has nothing to do with safety, and like the FAA here in the US they are having people in the UK fill out forms not because they have any intention of changing their minds, but to get an idea of how many of you are out there. Once just as they did here in the US they know how many of you there are, and that the base is relatively small. They will go ahead with everything that they intend to do. this is where we were a year or two ago, thinking that we had made an impact when we didn’t even make a dent. Now remote ID in the US begins next month in September and it will be official. Politicians need to be confronted about their partnership with companies like Amazon and Walmart and UPS and FedEx! It needs to be confronted and even if it is it may not do anything. But that is the reason these rules are coming up and he has to go is to have consumer drones removed from the airspace. In fact, DJI is now releasing their own delivery drones, and guess what they’re not allowed to be sold in the US! 🤔 Gee, I wonder why? Look for the same result to show itself in the UK. Again, it has absolutely nothing to do with safety or concerns of voyeurism! Amazon and Company’s like it which are part of a group called the commercial drone alliance they have the money to influence. Politicians knows exactly what’s going on over here in the US. In fact, a US drone company called Skydio reset Lee got out of the consumer drone business all together. Completely alienating everyone who bought their drones. Gee, I wonder why? Politicians or the government are using safety as an excuse to get DJI drones in eventually all drones used by consumers out of the air space that they want to use for themselves. Don’t fall for it!

Money and control are usually the reason for any new laws... from small communities all the way up to federal/world level. I have yet to see any other reason to make a law. No one is really that altruistic in government or larger corporations. Look at the insurance companies... they really 'care' about your health, right... Right to the bank! And they control every medical facility in the US. Or car insurance and its impact to 'safety features'. If it saves a life, it's worth a million dollars, right? Hence the new car prices and features you don't want or need to drive a car. The main goal is to shift the responsibility from the individual to the governing body. We're well into this shift now. You are not allowed to make decisions for yourself, you must get permission to take a step. I've watched this steady and refined process through my life. Everyone's really agitated (distracted by design) these days, which makes it even easier to accelerate changes. Drone laws came down fast. I stopped flying because of my fear of breaking laws that were getting invented. I couldn't fly anywhere in 2015 or so without lots of beeping and warning.. so I just said screw it and donated it. Now I'm interested in doing as an adjunct to a photography hobby but I don't know if it's worth it... now there are even more laws than before. What if I sold a print of a dolphin jumping out of the water? OMG that'll land me in jail... plus the extra taxes (fines). Dreams are being crushed daily. Good luck everyone.

In Poland, drone laws are handle realy good. You need do get free lincense (compliting online test), then you have to use special app to get permission to fly it in diffeent zones (poland is splited with many difrent drone zones with different regulations). If you want to fly in more restricted zones (for example cities) you have to get more linceses (they cost around 100-150 usd so they are quite affordable). This system works amazing. You mentioned about laws getting stricter in some countries but here in Europe we adhere to EU rules to register our drones and we have map apps which alerts us about no flying zones which we must avoid. We don't have any issues flying drones anywhere if we are legally allowed to fly the drones and have the requirements of FOCA duly fulfilled. To fly drones in non EU countries I would need to get the required permissions before I can take my drone with me but then not all countries have the drone map apps available.

@@glengarant3067 Yeah because there isnt one for the camera drones like the Mini 3 Pro. DJI had it at one time on the DJI FPV and possibly some early Mavics with the addons but im not sure about that one. Why they dont have it is crazy to me.. I have an Avata and O3 Air unit FPV's and i would use the DJI Footage now if it had Audio to mix in with the music but they dropped the feature on the "newer" O3 air unit which really just has a better camera and a better processor chip with more features and could of definitely been made to even just record the Audio to the Air Unit/SD card itself. If they didn't want to transmit it wirelessly anymore to the Goggles to get Live Audio with headphones plugged into the goggles. The original DJI Air unit & DJI FPV can do it so its really just a shame..

The thing is that flying RC models has post WWII been a significant component in the education of many future Pilots. The rise of hobbyist Drones , and a rich commercial drone industry, seems set to ensure that hobbyist drone flight will also be a component in the development of competence for that industry, and also for governmental and regulatory applications. We've recently bought a mini drone. My background for many years has been flying R/C gliders/sailplanes. When drones started to be popular and occasionally there were stories of people abusing the then regulations many in the none drone community said that the few will spoil it for the many and the knock on effect would not just be drone flying. And so it has come to pass. The few have spoiled it for the many, the tragedy being many of those have found a new shiny thing so it no longer involves them, the rest of us though now carry the burden. 🙁

@yngndrw. Жыл бұрын
Darren, in the nicest way possible, I think you've misunderstood why these drone regulations are being tightened - The CAA are not tightening regulations due to misuse, this is all about money. Take the Gatwick airport issue as an example which you did raise in your video. Lots of "sightings" but not one shred of evidence of an actual drone. The police went on a witch-hunt against two local drone enthusiasts and the media piled on, but in the end the police had to pay £200k in compensation to the couple because the case was built on nothing. So what really happened? In order to understand that you have to follow the money as always - Which leads right back to the company who then provided a load of useless anti-drone technology to various airports. Time and time again there are reports of things which didn't happen, "sightings" and unconfirmed "near misses" - All to clear the airspace from our hobby or to line the pockets of some organisation. (These drone delivery companies who have a product which is unviable, but are really trying to position themselves to provide the next drone ATC system) The people who abuse the airspace and get caught are just a happy accident to those trying to clear the airspace, they just help build up the media frenzy. We're losing our hobby and there's not a single thing we can do about it thanks to corruption.

It's because the Auditor tells security about it before hand. So the staff are going to be looking up at the sky to spot the drone, and the directors are going to be annoyed at the disruption caused by the staff being distracted by it. Otherwise, the drone may never have been noticed, and the interesting footage of the yard work would have been obtained with no drama.
