Concept ideas from the Zelda team of a playable Princess Zelda in the distant past since she is treated as a main character. Fans originally felt it would be a cool idea to make the Dragon Tears more interactive instead replaying cutscenes that’s done in Breath of the Wild. Hopefully notes from the developers would given us answers about it since a Fujibayashi himself said that this Zelda is the strongest version.

I have my gripes about the story too, but these people always use the most nitpicky examples to make their point. If we ever get a definitive placement in the timeline for BOTW/TOTK, all questions are answered as far as I'm concerned.

The Temple of Light concept art I saw on the is what really caught me by surprised. I wish the developers have not cut this part out in the final game. It would’ve give the opening more room in showing Ganondorf’s history as seen in the E3 teaser announcement, Link and Zelda’s time together before the Upheaval started, and learned more the Zonai race.

The concept art of Rauru kneeling before Sonia is really a callback to the moment from Skyward Sword. Fans really loved this royal pair. They deserve more screentime.

What I would like for them to explain is how ganondorf suddenly hydrated himself from a lifeless corpse to fight against Link in the final battle. my guess was that he used recall from sonia's stone to retrieve his former body, but I'm not sure

He can't do that. The stone only amplifies one power that the person possesses....and so unless Dorfy-boy possessed Time power himself, he can't use Recall. Just "Darkness".

Seeing the primitive perspective of Ganondorf in the Imprisoning War era something I am looking forward to in the Master Works. *QuestwithAnon* made an analysis video that the the Japanese text shows that he is motivated in controlling all of creations to revert Hyrule back to the land that is roamed by demons/monsters. And the Gerduo King grows to despise tribe leaders whom lack a fighting spirit like he did and having a Zonai as Hyrule’s King pushes him to his obsession for supremacy. What I am curious is about how did Ganondorf managed to mastered the gloom before acquiring Sonia’s Sacred Stone. That is the topic that hasn’t been discussed about since we have seen Kotake and Koume made brief appearances.

Because Nintendo retconned the lore to fit this story, which is a weak and underdeveloped story. I don't necessarily have a problem with a retcon, but Nintendo failed to make it compelling.

the gloom is just a manifestation of his magic ability, just like all the other sages. the stone doesn't reflect what's in your heart, it reflects your magic (with the implication that if you have no magic, the stone does nothing) and all the sages (minus Zelda who had no one to guide her until after she met Sonia) presumably had someone to teach them how to use their powers or at least access them to train on their own, which is why we can see them all using their abilities just fine without the stone. we can assume with Kotake and Koume around, Ganondorf had the same support in learning to master gloom without the stone, and that it simply made him powerful enough to do things like summon the blood moon and revive monsters/make them stronger, as well as making the gloom stronger or allowing him to make more of it. but the gloom itself is all naturally him.

@Moon-Vixen In TOTK, Kotake and Koume are too young to be Ganondorf's surrogate mothers. You can see this in the memories. We can't assume they taught Ganondorf how to master his dark power. TOTK is a retcon. It doesn't follow previous lore.

Fun trivia: _reincarnation_ is a thing in the Zelda universe hence Twinrova gets reincarnated as surrogate mothers to a new reincarnation of Ganondorf in the Era of the Wild.

9:52 I feel like I recall hearing that miyamoto was in charge of ocarina of time - aonuma has been in charge of these last two games and I feel like that has something to do with it. Just because the Wild duology is a soft reboot thousands of years after the end of the 3 timelines doesn't mean anything has been retconned.
