This true, i usually run Duo with a friend, we're mostly rats but dont have problem engaging in a fight, and during day 2-3 of this wipe we fought a 4 man team, my friend died after killing one of them while i manage to keep my cool and finally killed all 3, sadly not long after a 3 man team showed up, did what i can but died after killing 2 of them, it was on PMC camp on Woods Another advantage in playing with a teammate is that you get a morale boost, so in you win a firefight the dopamine hit is even higher while if you got wiped the feeling of loss is lowered

In my opinion it's a tradeoff for intensity. Like yes playing in groups is generally more fun. Bu compared to the heigths and lows of exclusive solo play it is nothing. Nothing you do in a group will ever even remotly come close to the high you feel when your heartrate is worryingly high for minutes while you somehow hold your ground alone against a -four- man, three man after waiting for the perfect shot and getting another trying to peek. Until it's a one v one and the last guy chooses the run away and you are slowly coming down from your rush and looting everythig you ever wanted. It's an unbeatable high compared to groupplay. Just like it's an unbeatable low when a freshly spawned playerscav snipes you just while you got done looting. And you are left where you started off, beside a memory, some xp and the knowledge that you made 4 men shit their pants all by yourself. Now it's time to get kitted, without 3 guys throwing you a full kit at the start of the raid. So yeah idk, I rather play smash bros or whatever with the bros, cause it's abot playing with the bros and less so the game which is fun about the activity. But Tarky? That's me against the world baby and I'll try and scratch and claw my way out until my ligths go out, no matter the odds. P.S. Shit aint good for oyur heart tho, and that really sharp and noticeable adrenaline spike when you tap the first guy out of three and you know in the last 0.1sec everything changed from you being hidden, to at least two guys looking to kill you is probably not healthy either lol xoxo

You're both right. My two cents is groups can be trying when your group ignores your callout or fail to make their own. Played with a full group the other day. Everyone was shift-w'ing. I had the most experience and was asking them to slow down. Then they started splitting up. 2 started fighting about loot. 1 got engaged by a two man 50 yards away. I asked where the opponents were at and he couldn't use his words. Just kept firing at them and after several requests for a callout he simply said "fuck! I'm dead! Where the fuck are you guys?!" Like dude. I asked. You didn't respond. "Fuck! Somebody stash my stuff." Dude. Where are those two guys? "Stash my stuff!" Bro. We're engaged. I'll get to it. "Fuck." Ive been playing solo for the basically since I started since my friends who got me on quit. But this wipe I decided to play a few with groups to get quests done faster and ended up falling in with a good group of dudes who have years of experience at this game. So as someone whos done both Id say, solo is good for your to test your individual skillset but its nice to have a good group of people to run with because you can exchange knowledge like good loot runs, tactics, pathing, etc. Which are much harder to learn as a solo or even from a youtube video.

I’ve been playing for about 600 hours solo with some duo and quad teams. Overall, I feel that playing solo allows me to move throughout the map with more fluidity. The shooting and repositioning for me has become second nature to where I feel confident taking on three mans and maybe quads from the right angle with the right avenues for flanking. However, it also allows me to disappear without a trace. Tracking a solo is much harder as your profile is much lower. Remember to only takes fights in your advantage and be patient. Great video!

I'm so proud of myself whenever I can get away with a cheeky team wipe. Had a really good one against a 3-man squad the other day using just a Mosin and a MP-133 on Customs. Left the raid with a SCAR, decked out ADAR, and all kinds of goodies from their team's previous kills. Playing solo has one distinct advantage; you don't have to share any loot. Not to mention the overwhelming satisfaction of a successful raid where you came out on top over several other players. That feeling is always gonna feel like a drug to me.

3rd wipe here and finally beginning to pick the game up well, getting kills, flying through quests that used to seem impossible, lost the pvp adrenaline rush aswell that i used to get, and just enjoying the game a lot more. The PVP rush is what killed the game for me the past couple wipes. Playing Tarkov as a survival game again, rather than a PVP shooter has made this wipe much more enjoyable for me. I am stoked for arena though when that PVP itch comes around again.

This game's difficulty curve has been a bell curve for me. Got EOD in 2016 or 2017 and have been playing off and since then. Was really fun, much less stressful time when most of the players were new. Shit there were maybe 1 or 2 streamers at the time for the game, it wasn't popular yet. Then the difficulty increased when I came back once. Mechanics were different, everyone is a meta-chad and getting head eyed across the map. Watching some videos and taking notes on how they play has made it easier this wipe, each day making that survive/death ratio better. If you're new and struggling take this advice: Your either going to die in a bush to someone you never saw, or you're going to die in a firefight where you at least pursued and tried to make a play. It's Tarkov, you accepted losing your gear when you clicked ready. Too often I found myself slow crouch walking or "listening" for minutes on end in pure fear. I die less sprinting and fast walking everywhere, I get more loot, and I get more kills. Sound is a huge part of the game and making sound is a huge fear, but after watching a lot of videos about how sound works in the game, I dont have a fear of moving anymore. Headphones detect sounds at the same distance (at least footsteps) non-headphones do, just at different volumes. That scary chad gunning down the entire server can still be caught off guard and flanked, and definitely can't hear you move out of the bush you were hiding in 3km away. And for gear fear: if you're not selling the gear you're too afraid to use, you've willingly cut that many grids out of your stash. Either you sell it, use it, or lose it. Keeping that meta AK for weeks because you're not confident enough to use it? Just fucking use it, you can't practice with it any other way.

Many people are affraid of solo and thinks squads are safer way to play. On the other hand - you are multiple times easier to spot than solo. Also you can't count on footsteps so much. Also - if squad is badly communicated - as solo player you have upper hand in many gunfights because they need to make sure you are enemy or not.

another thing that people don't understand about pvp in this game is that you have the advantage if you are the aggressor, pushing the other guy instead of sitting and holding an angle. I see a lot of these groups that back up when one guy shoots at them, allowing them to be fought much more easily. If they just rushed you they would win the fight. For instance that fight on interchange.

Ok so I'm a noob who just died on woods. I heard a guy inside a house in scav town and tried to wait him out and snipe him when he peeked a window, but I couldn't get an angle. Ended up dying when he shot me thru the fence. Is there a way to approach that without dying? I felt like I couldn't rush inside the fence since there's only one gate and he'd know exactly where to look.

Low level players are still getting clapped 9/10 times with peekers advantage or not. Imo the only time the game is fun for people like me is early wipe when nobody has good armor or ammo and people actually die when I shoot them lol. Now whenever I try to play at this point in wipe the only people I see are cracked out chads with gear I’m not even allowed to buy no point in even trying to compete with those people.

the greatest thing that helpoed me not only solo but just overall was playing offline raids. it allowed me to learn the maps worry free but most importantly practice fighting. of course its only against scavs but after a while you start fighting the boss and that REALLY makes a huge difference i cant recommend it more.

I don't mind playing solo. I'm not new. This is going to be my 2nd full wipe. I know the maps and game pretty good now. Being new and running solo is scary and overwhelming. But now I prefer to run solo or duo. I like to play sneaky when I'm solo and more aggressive as a duo. I have to say that night raids as a solo are God tier.

@@Limaonyx They only have a spawnchance of 2 to 3% and if you play Lighthouse, Streets, Interchange or Reserve there spawn none. But be aware that bosses also spawn at night. (Lighthouse you can encounter Big Pipe and them other 2 guys for instance) And not to forget, I personally have pretty much at least 1 PMC in the Raid who has NVGs.

I think the biggest advantage of playing solo is stealth. One person is exponentially less easy to see than 2, 3, 4, and if you use this to your advantage and play sneaky, solo really isn't that hard

Usually play in Duos, will 3-5 man group some time, but it's too crowded. Can't rely on audio too much, pretty much have to bait teammates when they die to get a beat on the fight. My duo and I have solid comms, we go through the maps in offline, mark call outs for hills, buildings, specific rocks/stashes etc. We are constantly moving, we usually split by about 50-100m and then re-group. So kind of like 2 solos, but working with extra intel/flank routes. We kind of did this by accident 2 wipes ago, but we have refined our method of playing to be pretty good together. We generally never sniper together, if someone is using a bolt someone runs a rifle. If someone has a shotgun, the other runs a rifle. We share loot, leap frog loot stashes, and work well together. When we 3+ group, it's a free for all. We still tend to split from the other 3, but are usually within visual contact with the group, just in case they get jumped. And then it's a cluster fuck in discord. I can't enjoy this game solo, gaming for me it's a group thing, so gaming by myself for 99% of games is boring AF.

Playing solo is always easier than with teammates. The only advantage of squad gaming is you have more gun power so you can just overshot your enemy in close range fights. When you play solo you instantly process all information you see and hear, so can react faster and you are the one who decides how fight will go and what will be next, you don’t need to ask “is that you?”, “wait I heard something” etc. You don’t need to say to your mate what you see and what you want to do, you just engage these guys when you are ready, you kill first and the rest just running around like a blind kittens waiting for their dead mate to tell them from where you killed him and when he tell them you’re already changed your position and ready to take down the rest of them.

I like playing solo, I used to almost only play with my cousins but I realized the way to make gains is solo. Especially with one of my cousins who took advantage of me and another cousins noobishness, We learned later on, When he says "Loot these filing cabinets" to put our hands in his pocket and follow because he went after the real loot

If you insure your gear, looting multiple pmcs is easy, you can wear their armor and rigs and dump yours in a corner. Woulda helped you on that interchange when you had a usec and azimut in your bag but still had another body and a half to loot and no room for the helmet

With solo you can manoeuvre much better,combined with map knowledge, I can go from one end/level of interchange to the other end/level super fast, combined I always end up looting loads of weapons boxes plus tech light

Don´t get me wrong, every advice is appreciated for us newbies. But going solo (my friends opted out after few days of not making much of progress) as a new player is insane. I know I know, many took the same path as I am, I need to be patient.. but after tons of research I came to realization that it will not get better any time soon. The weapons will shoot everywhere just not at my target and if I actually hit, because of how bullets work in Tarkov, I could very well just throw them at my enemies because the effect will be the same. I love challenging games but it feels unfair considering I am being matched with much more experienced people who just know how to progress faster and have better ammo and guns.

I actually told my friends I would insist on going solo only for my first wipe. While I definitely ended up being way behind by the end of the first wipe, for my second wipe (i.e. now) I'm by far the most skilled player in the group. Solo play allowed me to really learn the game at my own pace, and while I did get shit on for pretty much the entire wipe, I got much better much more quickly than all of my other friends.

My biggest problem with Tarkov is sound as my hearing is shot and Tarkov sounds are shot. So I genuinely struggle to identify where any sounds originate from and I have to play with the volume so loud it hurts, just to have a chance to hear something. Yup that is after turning off Binaural sound.

My biggest issue is that I always expect to run into a 3-5 man when I queue solo and with the way the game is/my skill is I know I can take 1-2 of them but the last 1-3 will take me out so I run cheap gear which in turn, hinders me even more

@@Dynamice1337 I agree. Lump solos and duos into games and 3-5 mans into separate ones. If it needs to fill a solo/duo and none are around but a trio is looking then maybe allow that. I heard it was set up to prioritize solos with solos but I’m not sure if that’s accurate. It’s hard to know what’s legit info and what’s just rumors

Bro I sometimes I play 5 man and it’s STRESSFUL trying not to kill each other. Solo is always the easiest route once you have game knowledge. He’s right about confusion in groups. It’s hard to get a good team communicates effectively. I usually stick to duos or trios if playing with friends.

I play tarkov solo for 5 wipes now. I used to be trash at the game and so I thought I needed a team to get better. Never found one and this wipe I did an any % speed run to kappa and it’s just not fun anymore. Idk if I’m gonna play next wipe but something about sitting loading into a raid by myself 150 times in a row is just too depressing sometimes.

I just want some tips on how to even spot these people hiding in bushes in the game. Im very new and have issues even spotting players that are hiding or are in a relatively bushy areas. Edit: I meant spotting as in spotting with the naked eye without using any kind of optics.

For me, its not so much the 1v1, its more im walking on shoreline, woods etc, and im shot from a distance out of nowhere. it's usually 80% of my deaths. I don't usually know where it came from, and camping spots change game to game. Would be nice to have a replay feature to watch the round back to see their vision.

If it had been me in that first example i wouldn't have bounced that shot with my helmet it would have landed right between the eyes first shot and there would have been no followup. I know because i went 7 tries deep on clearing the UAVs. And 9 tries deep completing Bunker Part 1. And am currently 5 tries deep on Humanitarian supplies with no progress. It doesn't matter if i kill a whole squad along the way, loot or just ignore and scoot as fast as i can i always get picked off right before extracting. I'm not making it out with a gargantuan haul of loot where i have to make hard decisions on what to take i'm just not making it out. My stash isn't growing in size its got 7 heavy bleeds and i've got no esmerches.
