My dad used to be an industrial engineer for Daimler Chrysler in kokomo, and he once told me that if I want a car with one of the strongest engines on the market, to buy a Jeep with a straight 6 engine, manufactured from the early 90s through 2004. Apparently they were manufacturing the same exact engine since the 70's, year after year, perfecting it as they went along, so by 2004, Jeep's straight 6 was a machine engineered to perfection. Then in 2005, they redesigned the engine, probably killing the quality in the process.

@Cupidstuntfc11 ай бұрын
It’s interesting you say that because I live in the UK and I like these videos because I didn’t realise that car dealerships could charge above the recommended retail price. Over here brand-new car showrooms are really just agents for the manufacturers and have to sell the car at the price that the manufacture charges. in fact i think it’s illegal over here and in Europe to sell a car for higher than the price that the manufacturer recommends. Obviously an individual can buy one and charge what he wants but not the dealer. Also over here you can’t just walk into a showroom and buy a car. You have to order it and the quickest I’ve ever got a brand-new car is three months. The only cars that you can get direct from a showroom there and then are ex demonstration models. Car supply is Limited by the manufacturers and that’s probably what they want to happen over there in the US. Then the manufacturer has total control

It was listed at 67,562 cdn or 50,045 US dollars before taxes, and discounted to 51, 262 cdn or 37,965 US dollars before taxes. So I went down to the dealer to see if this was true and it was. They has a lot discounted Ram trucks up to 25% off MSRP. I ended up buying this one and got them to throw in 3M for front of the Ram and not to charge me for the running boards and mud flaps they added. It had what I wanted, heated seats, remote start, tow package, Hemi motor, tinted back windows, 20 inch tires etc. Just wanted to share this with you because the week before, they only had discounts up to 15% off MSRP. I've seen lots of YT vids for a while claiming that various dealers are struggling and will need to drop prices. So far, in my area, I see no sign of dropping prices. I see no changes in the add-ons. Whatever message the YTers have been sending for the last year or so, it has not been received by any dealers around here. The local Jeep dealers certainly haven't lowered prices.

In the equipment business I've seen where they loaded up on combines or even certain years of tractors, no problems, they sold them over the border and they junked them out, then you had to buy new or go over the border and bring them back, but I'm over 800 mi from the border. I had to go to two different states to find equipment. It may appear that they are cornered, but if they're not, we are.

I get a lot of ads from a local Jeep dealer. They are offering 9.9% off of msrp. The ad says the average savings from this deal is $8600. Which means the average price of a car on their lot is slightly over $86000. For a vehicle that probably has lot rot and will probably spend more time in the shop than in your garage. Amazing.

Bought my first house for only $9,000 more than that Grand Wagoneer. Those 6 figure car prices are insane! If you finance that truck for 7 years at the average rate of 9.5% your payment is nearly $1900/month. If you instead bought a used suburban or equivalent for let’s say 40000 and invested the difference (approximately $1350 per month after 7 years you would have $151,000 (at a return of 8%).
