The real reason we still love tube amps is that feeling you get in your guts when you stand in front of a high power tube amp. I have a Mooer pedal and it sounds great, it sounds even better run through my Mesa tube poweramp.

Extremely usable tones! If a difference is asked then Mooer will be great for live and practice since the mid-range is a bit on the muddier side. While the Amp will be great for recording since that mid-range articulation really helps to make the guitar stand out in a mix in a very musical way. Thanks for the comparison!

Great vid. Live I use a evh 5150 iii 6l6 50 watt head (non stealth) and I use the preamp out into the sonicake ir using setting 2, based on a vox 2x12. It sounds just like my 1x12 open back cabinet loaded with an eminence private jack (reminiscent of a g12m-25). There's some great sounding inexpensive gear floating around these days.

Great value content, thx! The amp sounds more "in the room" with "breathing", to make up for that, I would put a reverb with just 15 - 20% mix (room or plate) behind the mooer pedal and an eq, wherever it sounds better in the chain.

Absolutely probably 50% of guitar players don’t have the money or can’t justify an expensive rig,plenty of guitarists are jamming and recording at home and there isn’t a need for a 100w tube rig…..they are nice and still better at low volume but no real need

I've been thinking of trying a modeler or multi effects, but might have to take a look at that pedal and maybe some small solid state power amp and a cab or something. Where I live here in the Midwest USA in a rural area at the clubs and such many times you're not allowed an amp, or you can't play it loud. Hey buddy! It´s incredible, how these pedals sound by now! As you´ve mentioned, they sound completely different and I think, it´s just a matter of taste, which one you´d prefer! The 5150 has more girth, but I´d prefer the Mooer, because of the awesome sounding mids, which are sitting very well in the mix! But that´s just my honest opinion! Great video, as always! a touch more presence on the amp and it would be perfect sat in mix nicely. brown sound quite heavy in upper mids and presence, cut in mix. both sounded great though. i'm leaning towards amp and captor x for best tones and tone shaping ability. but for the price, wow, the little pedals were impressive.

The only thing that sucks about the Sonic IR is the memory; it's only got around 236kb of memory. Yes, KILObytes. Less than 1/4 of 1mb. I could only fit 4 Dr. Bonkers on it at a time. If it had more memory, or instead worked with a MicroSD card, it would be THE best simple IR loader available. It's great, I guess, if you've already narrowed down the IRs you want to use, but if you're demoing IRs and looking for the one you want, only being able to fit 3-4 at a time onto the pedal is a bit of a nightmare.

Love these kind of comparisons!!! Got the Sonicake on my pedalboard for a while. I'm alternating between a Be-od clone(you know the one from China ;) ) for my hotrodded Marshall tones. A joyo dark flame for a more modern metal sound. A Diezel vh-4 clone for uber German gain.... Now I really need the mooer 005!!!! And the 011 haha. Ow my piece the resistance: pushing the preamp pedals with a boss sd-1!!!! Basically all the tricks you can do with the big boy toys but in a way more convenient setup.

In my experience the truly big difference between those is with the mooer is a bit more difficult to do pinch harmonics, but if you don't do that trick it's almost the same.

Idk man, the overall eq is different and they produce different gain, the pedal is a bit one layered and has a bit coarser and sharper grain, the amp has a more multilayered sound with smoother and finer grain. There's gigh end fizz in the recording for some reason. Both sound fine, the pedal might do the job better in a busy mix but the downfall for me always is the feel, preamp pedals don't feel like amps and that's of course normal and to be expected, given the price

@@maurocirone4575 yes it will. I ran my Mooer 005 through my JCM 900 DR on the return side and a delay and reverb pedal. You can also run that preamp pedal through the front of the amp. But DO NOT run a power amp like the Mooer Baby Bomb through any amp! It will live up to it's name and blow up your amp!

Quite often I’ve done tests and guys have preferred a digital tone but you get some that will always pretend they can hear a digital tone even when it’s through a digital mixer and compressed in KZbin

It’s a great pedal goes from not on to extremely loud very quickly,it doesn’t have an on off switch so there’s a big pop if you unplug it before disconnecting your speaker but other than that it’s pretty cool

Currently I'm running my HR Prime into the return of Joyo Bantamp. It works great but I wanted to try a proper power amp pedal to drive my orange ppc112 cabinet.

IR files on the Sonicake are actually 4KB (very limited free space on it), obviously a Celestion download would be much bigger. I've not got around to trying third party IR on mine yet but was just wondering if you used the Sonicake website converter to reduce third party IR files to 4KB or just put the Celestion IR file straight onto the device with no conversion. Hope that makes more sense.

I think the main thing the pedal is missing is a tube power amp or some sort of power tube emulation. I saw another youtuber do the same test you did, but then they also ran the Mooer pedal into the FX return of their EVH 5150 III 50S 6L6, and then using the Torpedo Captor again as a third test, and when they did that it sounded almost identical. I forget which youtuber it was... and looking for it, I can't find it, so it might be a case of a deleted channel.

@@NinecoreNeil the thing is, there are IR's that include the tube power amp, and also there are IR loaders that can chain load separate IR's of power tubes, like Mooer's own Radar pedal, Joyo's R-08 Cab Box, NuX's Solid Studio IR, and others. Also, a local company here in the US called Guitar Fetish makes a tube power amp emulator pedal

Myself I had a bad experience with this pedal, found it super noisey, lacked gain and clarity and just ended up selling it after a week of toying with it. Just my take, seems many ahve nothing but praise for it, just couldn't say the same.

Педаль Муера имеет дешёвый призвук, который слышен даже в сравнении с обычными педалями по типу AMT P1/P2 или аналогичными. А уж в сравнении с усилителем эта педаль звучит ужасно. У меня ощущение, что при производстве этого видео звук Муера сделали сильно лучше, а звук усилителя не особо обрабатывали, чтобы они звучали примерно одинаково. Нечестное видео. Нет, Муер не звучит фирменно, он звучит дёшево даже как педаль.

What are you doing again? You are playing a pedal through the EVH as well as a pedal through the to the computer? And we are listening to the monitor output mic-ed? Anyway, the pedal does sound a little like it's playing in a tin can in parts, but otherwise, I couldn't tell the difference. I think the problem is that youtube video creators have an appearance of a conflict of interest. Every piece of gear they are trying to sell they say is great with almost no exception. I think the only way to avoid this is to take the last piece of gear you were trying to sell and show me why it doesn't sound as good as the current gear. Otherwise, the differences in all this gear playing the same type of music doesn't roughly similar.
