Good morning, I just last week put a new hybrid battery in my 2014 Prius that I bought from the Toyota dealership in Clearwater Florida, the cost was $2600 for the battery and they wanted $800 to install it. There is a three year warranty on the battery….however it’s only a one year warranty if you choose to install it yourself….. which only took a little over an hour to do . With some help from a friend. I live in Duluth, Minnesota. That salt is on your car for months at a time. Rinsing the bottom of your car can be a real mess because everything freezes as soon as you leave the carwash or a heated garage. I almost never wash my vehicles in the winter because the doors tend to freeze shut unless you are very diligent about opening and closing them while the water is in the process of freezing. I haven't noticed much difference between the appearance of rust on my vehicles and the people who wash their cars often during the winter. The salt gets back on the vehicle so fast that it barely matters.

If you want to not have to be involved in the driving, then get a chauffeur, or wait another year or two for Tesla to drop the qualifier and assume limited liability. If you have the means, are enthusiastic about the product, want to be part of the process of bringing the technology to maturity and want to have a small voice into what sort of driving you wish the fully functional product to exhibit, then spending a Benjamin each month for a not quite FSD nearly autonomous driver is the ticket.

I mean a used traction battery for a older Prius is usually 4- $500 and most of the time it's only three or four cells that go out sometimes just one and you can replace just one... People will tell you you can't but you sure can....i've done it multiple times and have seen 30 -40k more miles put on the car with no issues... after that I don't know I assume the cars are still going... But those are really good cars I like them... I still have two of them ...One is a parts car that's wrecked the other has a bad engine because they didn't check the oil.... when they get high miles they will use oil ...that's just all there is to that...

Get the BRZ!!! Subaru customer service is better, you can order it the way you want it, no dealer mark up, (as per Subaru policy) and they know how to service them better. Toyota or Subaru, It's still a Subaru.

don't ask me how to wire it, you'd need the thief to arm it but relocate your existing obd port and install another from your nearest pick-a-part. wire a tazer across the pins and when the tea-leaf plugs in, his gizmo's fried. just a thought. maybe you could build one of those computer-killer dongles into a dummy port?

If you ever work done to your car, the mechanic's gonna be real confused.
