I'm in north Texas. My apartment gives me a beautiful view of the snow cover roofs. It's really lovely and quiet. Thinking of going for a very short walk. Loved the snow as a kid when living in the mid-west. Funny you mentioned peach upside down cake. I'm doing peach cobbler tonight after pot-roast is done! You be well too dear lady. Jasper County and surrounding counties in Illinois have been canceled. Richland and Jasper County all week Our side country roads from the last storm are still ice and compacted snow turned to ice. Makes it unsafe to bus the kids. We have had them flip before. We only have one school district for the whole county. Lots of Indiana Schools are the same.

Not to sound harsh but it is possible to survive if prepared while living outside. I lived for 2.5 years in a tent in Southern Oregon. January 2016 one day the high was 14 degrees. Snow piled around. But my husband and I survived. So it's possible.
