The Italian lon’ gisland discussion had me rolling. Could be plain fishing but the random packages showing up has been going on for so many years bc of Amazon and eBay sellers. They’ll make accounts under randoms names, order their products and mail it wherever doesn’t matter - then they have access to leave themselves a 5 star review. If they’re selling scam products for top dollar with fraudulent reports it’s worth the effort and cost to drop ship a bunch of junk jewelry to try and get legit buyers.. no idea wtf that website is she mentioned but if she wants her reporting to do anything then she needs to report it to GRA and BBB 🤦🏻‍♀️😂

I have ordered moissanite jewelry. All the inexpensive moissanite jewelry comes with "certifications." Which are mostly not legit certifications, because it's a cheap lab made stone from China. She says she didn’t remember ordering anything. Did she ever specify if it was addressed to her with her name on it? Both of my neighbors have received MY packages in their mailboxes and on their porches. Seems like she opened somebody elses mail and freaked out about it. Literally, check the name and address before you rip into packages. Because I can't count the number of times I had a package get misdelivered.

Kids should get trophies for participating, it helps teach children that it's not the winning that counts- it's your effort that matters. I get what she's saying about the scams. They might have her mailing address and possibly phone number. If she goes to the website they can get her banking information. However, I don't think that's what they're doing here. She clearly has an online presence which is probably how they found her. Could have been a brand deal or something. Tbh if this is a scam, it’s the worst scam ever! They’re sending rings worth over $200 to older women, hoping that they’ll know how to use a QR code and give their information. Like you said, Zach, they already have her address, the only other valuable information that they could guarantee getting something from is the person’s credit card details. No one is going to give their cc details to a company unless they’re buying something.

So I just googled it. Its called a brushing scam. The items aren't worth $200, maybe just a few dollars. They then solicate reviews for their websites, they either sell on the website or use it for a larger scam. I am Australian and our governemnt watchdog says of it has your name and address it is likely you have been the victim of a data breach. The advice was, dont panic, check your credit card statements to make sure you havent been charged and also dont engage with the company.
