True, and good timing on his media fame, young enough for him to do a reset. That said, the kid HAD the potential that socmed thought he had as a 10 year old, but most of his fans were probably because of his hair. He made it despite all the attention so he might be the real thing. He needs to hone his style, though. His dribbling is great but not controlled, he’s just quick footed. If he gets great he will be seeing his runs before they happen and he will control the ball AND the movement of defense with his dribbling like Messi does.

Generally Leipzig rarely sign disapointments, when they sign young players and they do a great job helping them to get better plus the Bundesliga is both physical and tactical enough to "hone a hot iron" . This kid has go-to moves that are actually effective. He's extremely good at finding his favorite spots around the box which gives him an edge over his peers imo. Should score around 25 per season in a couple years, any top4 league. 30 if PSG keeps him.

Imagine the strength of character Xavi Simons must already have had at such a young age, to deal with both the outrageous expectations, as well as the unsvoidable wave of negativiy when they sre not met. But he appears to be really good at focusing fully on what is important for his career and development. I have a lot of admiration for the smsrt choices he made in recent years and it has really paid off. For some reason, he is not as popular in the Netherlands as many other uoung internstionals. It reminds me a bit of Clarence Seedorf, who also always seemed much less popular in the Netherlands than pretty much everywhere else in the world 😉
