I was Diagnosed with Pure OCD just after Finishing University last year, my Heart was Really Broken .I Really Miss The Old Me .This Disease Is Horrible just Horrible. To anyone Who has any type of OCD wishing You all Of the Best inn The Journey of Recovery From This Disease. Let's keep pushing✨️✊🏻

@@Dave-nu1mc means u have so much experience. Can u help me by resolving my query. I got so much anxious when some one ignores me or talk to me rudly that bring so much stress and i lost my apetite but i was not like this back then i was care free person and never bothered about any ones behaviour towards me. But now it affects me to the extent that it makes me depress for many days. How to deal with that is this also related to ocd or i become over sensitive how to deal with that ??

What I can Tell you Is That for This Past Year I will tell Most Of the Things I Thought were The Problem Were Not and almost Every Negative Feeling I was Having Kept Diminishing and it gets Better But You really Have To push Yourself to never be your own Enemy and play Victim Hoping To Het sympathy From Someone, Its Really Hard But its worth It. And always Talk Your Feelings and Thoughts out don't keep it cycling in Your Head Write it down and Talk to someone it helps a lot. And in Case You have OCD or Not I really Can't say it You Have to see a Proffessional for That. All in all I wish you all the Best and a Big love from this side Of Africa ❤🙏🏼✨️

You've helped me so much Nathan. You're the reason I started talking about my symptoms of Suicidal OCD and Existential OCD even though I was scared of how people would react, and therefore the reason I'm finally getting assessed for OCD. @@ocdandanxiety I've been in a facility for a month and they're assessing me for OCD after I brought it up, they said it's really likely. I've been doing better than I was a month ago!

WiSh you the absolute best of luck, I suffer from this also and I'm starting anafranil only been on it for a week and I'm only at 25 mg.... It is helping me a little and so far no side affects. Gonna try to get TMS Therapy for depression ... I hope you do well in your treatment.... What helps you when you have these thoughts? I can barely leave my house.

I wanted to say thank you for sharing your videos and content with us! back in February I started seriously evaluating what I can do to take charge of my behavior and emotions... I stumbled upon your videos by chance, but after cross-referencing a bunch I realized the description of OCD matched my behavior a lot: since then I've been taking the online course and practicing little exposures wherever I go. Being aware of my OCD behaviors is helping me cut them off at the pass way, way sooner than normal... I've won back so much time and energy, and I can finally visualize the road to regaining control over my thoughts. OCD took over my life in such an invisible way--it was the reason I ended up dropping out of school, among many other things... but I'm regaining comfort and confidence with every stride. Even if it's just in a small way, I'd like to go outside and help people like you do someday!

Taking the risk of not attaining my core values- it makes me feel insane. It feels like I'm putting my whole existance in danger,like I'm turning myself into someone whom I don't know!! And it also brings forth the question, "If I intentionally drop the concerns of my fears and core values, then why my life is worth living? What is the value of a human-life that decides to be indifferent towards the accountability of possible pain or trouble they may cause to themselves and others around?"

Dont know what to do with my delusions about the family i mean ,my family shows affection to make and i misinterpret it and think they are manipulating me!Delusions leads to ocd in my case

Even the idea of treating OCD gives me huge anxiety even though I never had signs of OCD when I was younger and I was fine the idea of not being super careful to not get sick or not being super careful so nothing bad happens to my pets or anyone that I love gives me huge anxiety that if my OCD gets better something bad will happen. I really do want help to get better though because OCD really controls a lot of my life even gymnastics now my one supposed to be stress free place.

I CANT BELIEVE THID ACTUALLY WORKED. I forst thought it was not so best idea. When i asked myself the the same fear questions , i came to one conclusion that i fear, but then surprisingly when i gave it another thought, i found out my fear was sth diff!! Now i can try to deal with the intrusive thoughts differently , try..👍

@@ocdandanxietyfor existential thought the thought are uncomfortable they keep telling me “ since i have no purpose and haven’t found one then why am i alive why do i try eating moving breathing or keeping myself alive?” My question is what kind of phrases do i need to write on the sticky notes for exposure therpy? It’s a little tricky for this theme of ocd

I have struggled with existential ocd and depression for the past year and have largely recovered with medication and therapy , but sometimes I still struggle with stuck thoughts like “what’s the point” etc So my sticky notes need to be words like “what’s the point” , “pointless”, “futile”, “no meaning” etc I’m finding that the intrusive thoughts are becoming much more insignificant but I think this idea of sticky notes could be so helpful for me Thanks so much for this video Nathan

The supplement Nac solved my OCD intrusive thinking. Also remember even though bad things can happen doesn't mean they always will happen.

Thank u for the videos it really helps. Ive been suffering from diff kind of anxiety and the worst Im experiencing is health anxiety. I put a sticky note of the diseases I think I may have like cancer cyst etc.. hopefully I will recover from this soonest.

Hey there! I saw many of your videos on intrusive and unwanted thoughts. I have noticed that whenever someone says things like "I failed in a test today", I actually sympathize for them but my mind checks itself by saying "What if you're secretly happy for their failure?" Then i ruminate and keep on doing that. Would you consider this an intrusive thought? Please help

The point is to take value away from any threat or fear. Add any new ones that come up. "believe" "real" "true" etc. 😉

Remember even though bad things can happen doesn't mean they will happen. The second solution is to consider trying to supplement called NAC. It helped many people with intrusive thinking and OCD like myself.

if the anxiety is more related to intrusive thoughts, would it help to allow yourself to go about your everyday life and whenever you have the intrusive thoughts to resist the compulsion?

You can try clomipramine.. it's a tricyclic antidepressant, it's got about 8/10 rating for helping ocd, I just started it a week ago and it's helping me I'm still on a low dose so I'm hoping to see improvement as it's increased over time. Speak to your doctor to see if it could be right for you. I tried 14 other medications before finding this one, ssris don't seem to work with my brain chemistry i ha e alot of side affects. Ask your doctor about clomipramine and see if it's right for you. Take care I wish you luck and good health❤️

This core thing is similar to finding the belief in ABCDE system of REBT by Dr Albert Ellis...it goes to the roots of the fears

I don't understand why we would think that exposure therapy would work at all, when OCD is caused by brain inflammation or the inability to process stress hormones because of long term stress.
