it is good that there are a lot of people that do not understand that little/local trips with a diesel is bad for the engine and causes 90% of the DPF problems.. at least once a week i take mine on the motorway do around 50-60mph in 3rd gear for high engine revs and heat and never had a DPF problem ever....

Similar situation with RAC i broke down they got me going just told me my battery was flat! Turned out a few days later my alternator had gone thanks RAC!

Driving with less then 50% diesel tank(car needs certain level of quantity to command regen) and start-stop function is the main reason for DPF blockage..honda parts are very expensive even for the motorcycles.

I've had a problem with fiat ducato 2017, Turning over slow, won't start. flashing up airbags, recently was saying on dash glow plugs, scan tool won't commucate with ecm, even glow plug light started flashing, i have been a motor mechanic in the past but i sent it in to garage because it's to cold out and they said it's alternator it's only got 11v in battery, i said it's because i;'ve been cranking it to start it, anyway i agreed to alternator and £380 later it's still the same, lastnight 22nd Dec 9pm it went through my head i bet it's a earth problem so i went to van put jump leads from battery to body and from body to engine block and it started with no warning lights, it was ground strap from chassis to engine

If you've got no comms with diag, it's definitely electrical/control unit-mouse has chewed through something

Yeah I’d say so, think it has chewed canbus wires as we had power and ground at the OBD port

Hello K, Just discovered your channel, love it, you are working as a proper mechanic. However, you are not showing more of the repairs that you do. Why using the time lapse often, that’s not DIYERs want to see. They like to see the proper ways repairs are meant to be done and not so much of snippets of weekly repair works. And furthermore, I am yet to see you conduct more of electrical and electronic diagnostics using especially a lab scope. You need to show more of your technical diagnostic skills as well as your mechanical diagnostic know how that you exhibit more often. If you can take on board this little piece of advice alongside the great work ethic and knowledge that you demonstrate on a constant basis, your subscribers and viewers would skyrocket within a jiffy. No doubt you are top notch, Make the best of it.

Fiat,shitreon and peugeot all same rubbish 🤣 had few doing what was wrong with camper and ends up being ecu but with the mice at wiring could be never ending faults good luck to your mate and as for the leak off pipes they put some hard sealer on the clips so you have to break it off and in process damage them so you have to buy new ones , they come from factory like that. Do mobile myself but hgv and plant cant beat it. Like the vids and keep up the graft

We did suspect ECU after a few checks tbh but it got to a stage where how much time do you spend on it? Nice one mate, have a lovely Xmas 👍🏼

Not all of them have it, it’s thrown me off a few times. Done many of those DV engines , fords/ pugs/ Citreon / fiat. Seen blue, black. Picks off easy enough, just leaves the fun of trying to pull the tabs up to unlock the fitting ….

Usual interesting content. Wonder why the AA didn't scan the C-Max. On the subject of scanners, do you rate Topdon? have you had any experience of other scanners? Trying to decide between Launch X431, Topdon Artidiag Pro, Autel.. it's so hard to decide. Cheers

Not sure why not, could have been the location they broke down or time. I really like the functionality of the TopDon scanners I’ve had, previously had an Autel and a launch based scanner, all fairly similar in all honesty, give me an email I might be able to sort you out a discount for the Artidiag pro 👍🏼

Well last year on the opposite side after loads of diag/wiring checks I put a Bosch aftermarket sensor on and the car didn’t accept it, tried a genuine one and was spot on so went genuine again at a cost of about £115
