Well if the Wi-Fi card does die on you there not that expensive to replace or you can go with a usb A internet dongle my dad uses one on his laptop since the Wi-Fi card died I payed $12 for it Amazon and it works great he gets 90mgbs DL we’re he was getting around 5-6mgbs on his Wi-Fi card which was down from the 30-40mgbs that laptop normally got

Dude the 3000g is awesome its my back up chip kinda miss using it loved trying to wring ever bit of juice possible with it,overclock etc...everyone should own one i had it paired with a rx570 4gb for a while and it could handle 1080p med no problem in most games

What sucks is I do like the feel of the faux rubber it’s nice…But. You can take off the sticky by rubbing a mixture of water salt and baking soda over it, let it dry and then remove. But I assume it’s only a temporary fix as it only takes the top layer off.

So I had a very similarly specc'd laptop laying around that hasn't seen use in about 3 years on account of it being too slow to perform basically any tasks, but recently I upgraded to the game pass ultimate and decided to see just how far the cloud stuff could go. Was pretty wild seeing the laptop which struggled with even basic web browsing run games like halo infinite and dirt 5 almost flawlessly even over wifi. The idea of buying a low spec laptop with the sole intention of playing via the cloud still seems like a terrible option, but it's really nice to see how it can give older hardware a new lease of life.

4GB of RAM is the official minimum for Windows 11, so buying a Windows 11 laptop with that is probably a bad idea. That 4 is only be less and less satisfactory over time. Even on Windows 10 it's barely sufficient nowadays.

If you plan to use game pass on more devices, with downloaded games on a main pc and with cloud gaming on a second device, keep in mind that when you play on cloud it's like you're playing on an xbox (to prove this, when you play via cloud gaming you can't change graphics settings), so you can cross-save only with some games like forza horizon, flight simulator and halo

Great video as always, a Celeron and integrated graphics are not going to cut it with a downloaded game ( even an android game on an emulator would chug along i think). But for letting the servers in the cloud do the work it does a good job, £200 for that is a good idea when you see how much a decent tablet costs these days. Keep up the good work and our UK speeds are cheaper and faster than a lot of the USA ( they get jiffed by the ISP's).

Truly a machine for people that have fast internet at home already and need a cheap and power efficient device to stream in some games. Beyond that and light office and browsing tasks it's basically already obsolete. It basically runs on the minimum specs and those won't do any better with time.

They are not, soldered to the board. "Value" of the laptop is mostly game pass.

The reason why you got FPS boost on Oblivion is because the games are being run on an Xbox Series S. So any game you run through streaming will run however well they run on Series S. So no Xbox One X or Series X specific enhancements, but you will get FPS boost on 360 and One games if available.

Sadly I have the same experience with the xbox pc app, refusing to download games, refusing updates and sometimes not even starting the game is too common for me. PC Game Pass is a good deal on paper, but when the company that made the OS can't get their own app to work correctly it's not a good deal. Only reason I have Game Pass is that is was cheap enough (60€ for 31 months) to make up for the headaches.

I've seen this chassis. It's a rebranded Teclast laptop. The best you can run is Excel on these 2C/2T Celeron chips, or something else that uses only 1.5 threads or less. The moment you start using several apps at the same time, the performance and thus the user experience tanks. And the keyboard and touchpad are bad. My dad got a similar model with an older (but still 14nm and Skylake-based) Intel Celeron N3350 from 2016 and 8GB RAM for $170 including shipping to replace his prehistoric 2010 Intel Atom netbook with 1GB RAM and that's about what the laptop can run, but with Linux installed it will probably perform much better, and the 8GB of non-expandable RAM certainly help the laptop perform better and is good for future-proofing the laptop, as they can and will still work for at least 5 years. But anyone who does even casual browsing or watches KZbin should rather buy a 4C/4T laptop instead.

At that pricepoint i suppose it's alright. The celeron should be barely powerful enough to run Roblox and Minecraft which are the two games most kids want to play, maybe not at 1080p. The fact it has a SSD boot drive is good, would've been even better if it had 8GB of memory too since i'm almost 100% sure the memory is soldered and non upgradeable.

Didn't know wifi on UK was that bad, I get 160mbps here in São Paulo, when I have problems it lows to 50 and it feels so slow. The cloud runs well on adverse conditions but the loading work makes the game stutter and freeze.

Although this is a weird product, I bought a friend a different ‘geo’ laptop with identical spec and a touch screen for his birthday and he says it works well. I also have a windows tablet with a similar spec and it browses the web and watches KZbin fine, but have never thought about cloud gaming on it. Probably because I have a series x and 900mb ultrafast internet, and that still doesn’t perform overly well with cloud gaming , so I just install the game pass games anyway.

i think this is a very clever product, say you wanted to game on low budget what with the price of living costs going through the roof and a console was out of reach and the alienware brand was well out of reach of my wallet i could go with this. your getting the system, a screen, speakers and 3 month game pass, that's a good fuckin deal. the laptop looks great with its green xbox aesthetics and the packaging looks good aswell, for 200 quid and you can run forza horizon 5 at 60fps on it, honestly if someone bought me this and i had nothing i would be chuffed to bits with it. also the xbox streaming app ran pretty good when i used it before it wasn't that delayed, people said that about the stadia but i never had any issues with that, i guess its all about the internet speed which in most cases people tend to go with the best packaged provider, it goes without saying, i can see some people would not recommend this if you lived out in rural areas but if you can afford to live in those places then your not going to buy 200 quid laptop are you. you could hook up a usb external device to increase storage for work purposes, it would be interesting if you could update the ram internally just for quicker desktop usage. if my kids didnt have an xbox laptops etc the list goes on then they would be getting one of these 100% the target market for this is bigger than people think. lets face it if you broke or lost it then all your game saves are on the account you would just go buy another one without saving up for months on end and pick up where you left off its remarkable. excellent basic packaging that's not too in your face and looks the part, the system itself looks pretty good it doesn't try to be something its not i like it allot.

You're definitely not the only one that has issues with the xbox app on PC. Sometimes downloads can take an absolute age to even begin, and when they do the speeds can vary from maxing out my connection to a few hundred kb/s. No idea why this is but it doesn't seem like they've any intention in fixing it anytime soon

I was looking for a cheap laptop and, not wanting to go down the rabbit hole which is Curry's/PC World, I saw this in Argos, and was thinking about using it as a retro gaming console. Putting Windows 7 on it and playing some retro games. Do you think it would work for that? I guess 200 quid isn't bad for a brand new laptop, and at least it's a proper laptop and not a chrome book, but I was also wondering if CEX or Cash Converter may give me a better deal.

Good luck finding drivers that work. There aren't any Windows 7 drivers for the UHD 600, The Celeron N4020 isn't supported under 7, same with the chipset and USB.

Got my daughter a Geobook X3 (quad core Pentium version) with an added M.2 SSD for school, it's surprisingly good with solid build quality so depends which generic laptop they're rebadging tbh. No idea why dual cores are still a thing though.

@@topgcrseven Just checked and we bought it used on 20/11/2020, she was still using it earlier today. Assuming all low end laptops are junk is nonsense, just like assuming all business class laptops are well built. My plastic trash Thinkpad at work already has cracks in the palmrest and a non functional left touchpad button and it's had a much easier life than the all aluminium alloy Geobook. Screen is much lower quality as well. Sometimes you get rebadged cheap laptops with surprising build quality such as my daughter's which definitely doesn't come off the same production line as most of them, sometimes you get e-waste junk. I've done board level repair on a ton of laptops, have taken this one apart to repaste it and can't see anything that would make me worry, it's a nice little laptop with solid build quality that'll eventually be my Kubuntu machine when she gets a new one.

Xbox cloud gaming has improved a lot, at least for me. I've been playing a lot more single player games on it. I would not play competitive game using the cloud, but for single player games is good enough.

You should revisit the ryzen 3 1200. Being the weakest ryzen every produced, it's a great entry to the am4 platform and u can get it on eBay for like $50 usd

Bruh these companies really think we're idiots, although I'd like to see more videos reviewing OG gaming laptops that are very cheap today and see they performance like I've seen some Alienware R14 and Lenovo y50 under 200 bucks on eBay

@@tarelsun4025 They will not be held accountable for false advertising if they don't advertise that this laptop will run all of the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate games in the first place, which they obviously didn't. No manufacturer would say that even if they were selling gaming laptops. I assume they only said something like "includes a coupon for 3 months of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and that's about it. And that's all they need to say really

Hay there is a cool program called Duelshock4 windows it basically Emulates a x Input Controller it will let you use you ps5 controller or a PS4 one. For game pass or anything else that only like xInput
