i really enjoyed this and it inspired me to really condense my WIP's down to things I actually want to make. projects go so slow due to severe wrist pain i've been dealing with off and on for three months now. Between sewing, knitting, and crocheting, I feel like I've made nearly no progress on my wips and if I just toned it down I'd probably be able to see some slow progress.

I’m a complete advocate for being ruthless, especially if you’re dealing with some pain that isn’t usual, to help with the rest and recovery! I’m not sure what your situation is - but I always think there’s nothing stopping you from starting a frogged project again from scratch if you feel like it in the future ☺️
@caroline742012 күн бұрын
@@skeinky yes for sure. my active basket too much and feels overwhelming especially when i can only do a row or two per few days. so if i only work on one project it might get finished. i was hoping that just rest would take care of it after all, it was just one day of over-crocheting (and trying to change my form to be better/faster) that brought this issue on but even after taking a month+ off after just a few stitches i could feel it coming back. I'm planning be very intentional with stretches and if it it isn't going away at all in a few weeks time i'm going to look into physical therapy cause i miss being able to see a project grow and being able to sit back and work on a project for an evening.

I loved your first podcast! Glad to already have a second episode to look forward to. I’m doing kind of the same, though I’m allowing myself all of 2025 to finish my 2024 (and older) WIPs. It’s actually going great, I’m already on my fourth project out of 13. one has been frogged and I’m sort of worried about the five second socks I need to knit. But that’s a future me problem.

I have a tip for the cloud blouse! If it's on interchangeable needles, you could switch the left tip for a smaller one, like a 3.5 or 3.25mm. I had a similar issue knitting a ranunculus and it was life-changing lol

Just found your channel, I'm also working on the Ozetta Traveller's Cardigan! I consider myself to still be somewhat of a beginner knitter, and I am finding it to be a bit intimidating since it's my first actual garment that I'm knitting. So I'm learning a bunch of new techniques. I look forward to watching more of your videos!
@skeinky13 күн бұрын
Oh good luck! The first one I made went in the bin 😭 but I don’t see it as a waste of time because you learn so much from doing a pattern twice. I’m sure it will turn out beautifully and you might even be motivated to do another in the future when you learn new tricks and techniques 💜

Enjoyed your first podcast, nice to have another UK voice in the mix!!! Loving your red cardi. There is a school of thought that suggests, when you have a lot to do, doing/finishing the easier or quicker things first is helpful because quickly you can get the list down to fewer items which eases the overwhelm…??? Dunno if this appeals? Also loving the look of your ‘scrappy cardigan’ that’s going to be beautiful.

Congratulations to a great first podcast! I once saw that same Noro yarn in a shop but didn't buy it in the end. I should have! Your jumper looks amazing. How a about turning the blouse you are knitting in a slipover since you don't enjoy knitting it that much? (Or would that feel like cheating?) However, I think it would look very good as a slipover over a (white) blouse or shirt. I am looking forward to your next podcast and wish you good luck for your channel.
@skeinky11 күн бұрын
Thank you! I might take that advice if I really can’t stand working on the blouse 😅
@jenniferknatters326315 күн бұрын
Hello mysterious stranger. Six WIPs might not be much as a number, but when all six are large projects like jumpers it is a lot. I don't like to have a lot of (active) WIPs, generally vanilla socks that go places with me, and something bigger like a jumper and smaller like a hat or a cowl for at home, in different gauges and complexity levels so if I need something I don't have to think about, I've got something, or if my hands hurt from only small or only large needles, I have something in the 3.00-4.00 range. Your pullover does look big for you, that happened to me when I knit my stranded colourwork vest so I seamed it up one side, I think I took out two full pattern repeats, when I got to the armhole casting off stitches and creating a steek selvedge. Then when I steeked the armholes/neckline I cut off the extra stitches for the side seam as well. Hopefully it won't come to that for you. I think the yarn made of two different colours plied together is called "marled" or "marling" depending on usage.
@skeinky14 күн бұрын
Marled! That’s the word I’m looking for 😂 I think I’ll take your advice and put the body on some scrap yarn to check the width before I do any more 🤞

Cause, that's just teaching everyone that, No one is perfect. And that's OK. Everyone is Human. Just go for it, your Dream, here. I will be rooting for you. Bye, for now. Blessings I send to you, too. 🙏. Sincerely, Elsa R. 64 yrs. young/old woman. From out in California👋

@skeinky13 күн бұрын
Thank you! Aren’t they just?! I think the Ito is probably great for an advanced beginner, you just have to be aware that it has quite variable width because I don’t think it’s machine spun (could be wrong though!), which can cause some variation in the gauge even in the same fabric. I think my gauge with it was slightly too small, but I wasn’t worried because it’s so easy to try the pattern on along the way and add rows to fit. I’ll hopefully chat more about my adjustments in the next podcast! ☺️
