This is the one for us. Hits 95% of what we're looking for. 3 observations. Agree about the sewer connections. The table slide out over the fireplace might be a bit much during winter but easily solved with tv trays or shutting it down weather dependent. Would be nice if autolevling could be accessed without having to open the bin door. Don't need nosy eyes looking into our bay and prefer not to open the bay during inclement weather. Little thing, maybe a shelf on both side of bed if it's a queen size to hold a cellphone (alarm clock). Just initial observations.

Yes! YES! This one is going on my short list. I love the wonderfully spacious kitchen. The washer dryer prep is great, love the ceiling fan, and the cargo capacity is really good too. What they did to the TV is great and more manufacturers should put them on stands that drop down like that. The factory solar is sufficient, and the road mode is lovely, and all this in about 30 feet! BUT, the absolute winner for me is that entertainment center/pull out table!!! As someone who would need to work on the road, there's space for monitors, I can use the TV, and there's enough room on the counter to tuck everything away when the work day is done and use it as a nice dining space, with the step up I don't have to worry about spills or anything seepimg over from the table or prep space either, nice touch! I'd probably swap in a nicer chair for office work, but those included ones look ok for meal time. If I had to be really, really nitpicky, I would have liked to see a single sewer line, but if the rest of the rv is damn near perfect, I could live with the two.

Hi Josh. It's been a while since I commented, but this 2024 Cougar 260 MLE is a beaut! It's perfect for a full-timing couple and not too large for moving around. I still would suggest a couple of simple modifications. Taking out the televator and still leaving a reasonably sized window and drop-down TV is great. However, I see myself installing a "door" to mount the TV bracket on, leaving the room behind for shelves for books, DVDs, CDs, or whatever. My other thought is directed at the door over the outside camp kitchen. That door looks to be a tad high up. I would like to see a strap fastened to the inside of the door, (screw at the high end, velcrow at the lower end) that would enable us height-restricted types to close the door. Another alternative would be to have shock absorber arms installed. Again, it is a very nice trailer. Oh ya, finally a trailer with lots of cabinets and reasonably sized windows.

Finally. This is the one for me. Big enough to full time, small enough to travel. Up here in Canada Cougar's have typically set us back $80-100k so improving the value they offer in the last couple years has made cougar much more competitive to what Jayco Eagle had been offering. Added bonus, this thing is light enough i dont need to buy a $100k truck to tow it. This will be able to be towed by a 20 year old cummins thats far closer to my budget, which will make affording the RV easier.

The Avalanche 295RK and Cougar 23MLE had a baby 😍 Great solo/couples floorplan. Nice "road mode" access and I like the outside griddle instead of burners. Bummer on the dual greys...does that mean there's (2) 38 Gal tanks? One for kitchen, one for bath? Never understood this, seems to me the bathroom grey is used more and, if split, should be bigger. my 2 cents. Thanks Josh!
@JoshtheRVNerd Жыл бұрын
lol basically. It's really really good. And yes - two grey tanks. The reason you get equally sized tanks is because of factory standardization. The fewer part #'s they can juggle the more streamlined and accurate the process. Less human oversight = more cost control So it's easier to just use two of the same tank than juggle multiple tank sizes

I saw this rv on another site, but it was painted black. That wouldn't work in Texas. Don't want to be cooked. The only thing I don't like is the position of the medicine cabinet. I would prefer it opened to the left instead of the right. Thank you Josh for the slide tip. I've never been told to do that. I really like the colors on the inside of this camper and it basically hits all the goody points for what we would use it for. The smaller windows would help with heat come to think of it and again, it would work for what we use an rv for. Thanks for your very detailed walk through. I don't think any other yt site is as thorough as you are or as funny. And you give helpful hints and point out the good with the bad (good being the door in the middle of the awning). Thank you for that. I was wondering about the position of those rear feet levels. Would you need something at the rear to help with wobble?
@JoshtheRVNerd Жыл бұрын
That's they're optional "Midnight Package" - not the standard look. The standard exterior with dual air would be a great pairing for you The rear leveling legs are next to the tires because it actually eliminates more wiggle. The tires are the part that wobbles most. So putting the jack there isolates movement more effectively

Just stumbled across this unit. NICE rig. My only gripe would be the pull out desk. It's nice for a couple but if you got 1 or more guests, a standard free standing table or booth dinette would be better. Especially if you take advantage of a tri-fold sofa bed. Josh why do manufactures not design "COUPLES" trailers with a twin bed option. Seems all the twin bed options that are out there are in very small trailers or in $200,000 plus units. I would think that there is enough of a market out there for a trailer in the 30 plus range with twin beds. Large kitchen space, a dinette and theatre seating with the tv across from the seating. And no walk thru baths. (we can't be the only couple looking for such a unit)

Do y’all have the highland ridge 274bhs would really like to see info on this. It’s supposed to be half ton towable?
@JoshtheRVNerd Жыл бұрын
I've never seen one nor do we appear to have one in stock currently though we do carry Highland RVs. They don't have specs on that model on their site yet but I'm betting it has 1300-1400lbs of hitch weight which is going to exceed the capacities of *MOST* half-tons out there. Many half-tons have the _towing_ capacity to handle smaller FWs like that but still lack the _payload_ capacity to carry their loaded hitch weight.

Okay, so I thought I was sold on the Cruiser, but this one has even more to offer. It's so close to the same floor plan. I'll look for the closest Bish's to me. I've only been researching for about six months now. Haha! Thanks!

This 260MLE is one of the best rigs out there pound for pound (for my money anyway)

Great RV floor plan. One thing I didn't like was the heat vents in the floor especially one right in front of the sink where you would be standing a lot. I'm old school and prefer to have nightstands on both sides of the bed. I like the ceiling fan in the front. More rv manufactures need to play the wardrobe and tv mount directly at the foot of the bed. I love the light color they did it really brightens it up.

is there an availability to add a reese goosebox hitch to this RV, I could not see the king pin box on it. Thanks

Not from the factory. Not sure what aftermarket solutions are available. I’d imagine it’s available aftermarket

Hey Josh, I've been watching your channel for a while and love all your videos! Do u have a rec for a couple, one persons retired one who's not. Park compliant option, couples size, with a permanent small table as a desk/dinette option, with a second area for someone to have TV space. Looking for a little separation noise-wise for the person working. Open to fifth wheel or travel trailer. Additionally, do you have any videos comparing pros and cons of drivable versus pull behind?
@JoshtheRVNerd Жыл бұрын
I have an aged video on towable vs motorized but I am afraid I don’t really know what to recommend for you beyond that. You’ve provided some handy info but much of it is relative and without reference - knowing size targets for example is helpful May be worth speaking with a member of our team. I like to get to know folks before I really know how to outfit them with an rv. Our local folks are there for you any time!

Great floorplan for it being only 31 feet! I would still opt for a hide-a-bed sofa so we could have one of kids join us for a weekend.
@JoshtheRVNerd Жыл бұрын
I can respect it. I prefer theater myself. Frankly I'd rather sleep on an air bed as a guest vs. most rv hide-a-beds lol :)

This is beautiful and has the needed storage, w/d prep, and love that drop down TV. Also love the weather package. This size is great...would be on our list for serious consideration if it just had a 3,000 lb hitch. We need one so we can tow our side by side on utility trailer. Please Keystone, if you're listening, that hitch is all it would take to knock this one out of the park! Thanks Josh! Great job!

Thank you for the great videos. My wife and I loved this trailer and your walk thru so much, we purchased one in mid February and now are enjoying it. It is awesome. We are very interested in the couch that’s in this video but can’t find it on-line or with our dealer. Can you give us the info on where to find it? Thanks again for all you do!!

I absolutely LOVE this floor plan and it’s “crap, nap and snacktasticness.” The flooring, ceiling fan, clever folding chair storage, sofa with drop down center (pet peeve: fixed center theater seating), xl medicine cabinet, shower head on the same side as sink, centered sink faucet, dresser, closet space galore and washer/dryer prep! Dislikes: dark grey back splash, location of nightstands, Honestly, I love this SHORT, TRAVEL FRIENDLY floorplan! I love to see Alliance make this…IMO, Azdel for the win.😏

Thanks for this review Josh......My wife and I LOVE this 5th wheel......It would be PERFECT if it was 5 or 6 ft longer. We would just LOVE to have a bit more space in it. Let's hope the larger ones will be what we are looking for. We are excited now to see what else will be coming in 24

Well, how's it feel to be admired, and the receipt of nothing but compliments.... Miles caught you working at the dealership expo, he credits you to his success! It's well earned!(you might have to change your name to something really cool like "RV PoppaJosh!"🤣lmao Messing with you brother! You are the rv ecylopedia, there is nobody as knowledgeable, and as funny, you are an expert traveling show! (If you're lookin for an agent?????)😋 Do you recall when you indicated that the same old same dinnertime booths, been around since the very first rvs, that the trend will be to get rid of the "Booth" as there are so many alternatives. Nothing demonstated more than in the 2024 Keystone Cougar 260MLE, Cougar has always managed to pioneer RVs, and thank you for showing us this amazing unit!!!!👍

I noticed no outdoor speakers! Now hear me out. I love the outdoor kitchen. But i am torn, maybe do away with it so you could have lower cabnets and just put a refigerator in the other storage space! Maybe even a 2.5 cubic foot fridge instead of the 1.6.

I think it'll be a polarizing feature but for now it's forced standard

Similar idea to the 2622 Rockwood without a dinette but I love the east west bed slide, very rare in smaller fifth wheels. Smart they out the fridge in the slide so it’s not blocked when in road mode. Cougar has some clever floor plans.

Just, WOW. Love it! The only thing on my form/function/feature list this one didn't hit is a half bath. Even the hitch weight and gross weight fit right into my current truck specs! They've got a customer coming in the near future.
@JoshtheRVNerd Жыл бұрын
I'm not sure I've ever seen a half-bath in something this size.. usually those don't start showing up until after 35ft with very few exceptions I was just impressed they did all this at only 32ft

The 23MLE is more my speed, but that pullout table-desk is a real win. Both are really well-put-together floorplans.
