Card of Demise: Can't special summon, being able to potentially draw 3 is a great effect but it locks you out of special summons and you lose your hand at the end of the turn. Hence why people avoid the card.

If you can make it synergies with other cards that can play around the negative draw back and/or use it as an advantage in a duel, then there is really no reason to not include it in your deck. As it can be just pure advantage. Personally, I included it in ALMOST every deck I have. It's really good at placing cards where you want them to be, Gy, Field and/or card decks to set up more advantage because it ONLY locks you out of Special summons (and Damaging), not Normal summons. So, decks that have a stall/stun strategy to them usually have to play defensively to make those strategies work (this doesn't always just pertain to stall/stun decks too). Runics, Fossil Dyna, you win the duel (clause), Gravekeeper's (floodgate effects), Mystic Mine decks etc. all have set up, so they mostly play quick defense (sometimes offense with boss cards) to stop an opponent from playing around their deck to get their win conditions underway. Thus, having a built-in counter strategy to work around those plays so they don't build up to whatever win condition they have, as Card of Demise is literally a tool of a card meant for decks that have some synergy to play around stun/stall decks, too help players set up plays rather than make plays; otherwise, Card of Demise will just have you play no offensive moves because it's literally made more for setting up plays that can survive against stun, floodgate decks and/or stall decks. Disclaimer: this is an opinion and isn't factual, take into consideration that these are just my thoughts based on Card of Demise. My ideas don't have to be agreed upon by anyone. For those wondering why Lord of the Heavenly Prison didn't work in the last duel: you can only activate one of its effects per turn (either the protection or the summon), and Rhyme activated its protection effect, making its summon effect not work.

If you want a series suggestion... Character draft tournament. Make a list of the top 8-12 main/notable characters from a Yu-Gi-Oh series... then do a draft for each one with the pool being only cards and archetypes related to what they've used (i.e. Not just what they used in the anime, but any related support that was released later on) Then face off in a duel to determine who had the better deck for that character. That list gets locked in for the character, and once you've done each one, they go into a separate tourney to determine which character has the overall best card selection.

@Rhymestyle. Lord of the heavenly prison cannot activate both its effects in the same turn. You can either reveal it that turn. Or flip a set card and special summon it that turn. And if it’s revealed in your hand NO MATTER HOW during this time, you’re able to set a card. I’ve been hit by rulings for that card so many times. I enjoy running it in god decks. Amazing synergy with mound of the bound and cards that search it out like Metaverse.

I love the draft duels. I do wish you guy would do a ritual card rule though where if as long as you get nay ritual card and a ritual spell you can substitute them for the proper cards.
