Lusitanos (and their very close relative, the Andalusians) are some of the most stunning and intelligent horses I’ve ever had the opportunity to work with. Maybe a bit biased since my trainer specializes in them!

Really needed this video ❤ Today I got told from a kid that I don't do anything, I barely did any work and that I shouldn't deserve a popsicle. When I just got done lunging, riding, hosing down, washing my horses mane and tail, putting it in a tail bag in 106 degree weather while she was In the art shed just doing crafts in the AC. Kids are just rude

Honestly, iberian horses are THE best. I’ve owned various warmbloods and ottb. I now have a PRE since 6 years and I have never ever met a more ambitious and lovely horse than him ever.

HE'S GORGEOUS. I really wanted a Lusitano but I decided against getting one because I want to jump higher as well, and they're just not the horses for jumping higher (and I can't afford two separate dressage and jumping horses lol). What a beauty. I'll never forget it when my trainer let me ride her competition horse once. How he rides is exactly how Esme described riding Historico - little movements. When I would over ride him he would just stop! She also used the training stick and I felt what a piaffe feels like for the first time and it was so incredible. Loved this video.

I found this really interesting, especially the lead changes. Growing up with like horses movies and books I always assumed lead changes were a normal thing taught to every horse, and I would get so confused when my instructors would look at me and say their horses couldn’t lead change at the canter. This video inspired me to do more research about flying changes lately and I understand it a lot better now.

Portuguesehorses and their Spanish versions are the best in the world because they were created by the Atlanteans of the Azores islands thousands of years ago before their sink. In fact according to recent genetic studies lusitanos and andalusians horses are the most ancient breeds of horses, going back more than 20.000 years ago. It's because the first colonies of the Atlanteans were settled in the iberian peninsula (bell beaker culture in central Portugal are their descendants) and they keep with them their beloved horses
