When General Jacob flew in a helicopter into Dacca and presented General niazi for surrender, Gen niazi said " I thought you came to negotiate", Gen J gave him surremder terms and told him he needed to make a decision in 10 min or he would leave. Coward, incompetent, clueless General Niazi consulted his officers and came back and signed, thst is why Gen J was shocked because he later said, he was expecting defiance and push back but surrender was accepted and so quick. All the General staff were coward louts who had no faith and therefore no spine. The advice from anothet coward drunk Gen yahya to Niazi was " Do what ever you think is right", no instruction to fight, he was lost in the realm of political arena just like situation today in pakistan.

@@Sando-q3b General Niazi wrote a letter to President of Pakistan Farooq Leghari in the 90s for reinstating his stripped away military pension where he mentions the Eastern Command obeyed the intial command of Niazi to die with no hesitation, only when his superiors Yahya Khan persuaded by Air Marshal Abdul Rahim and Son of Burmese Domestic servant General Hamid Khan to change the orders to Surrender. It was however argued against him that for the greater good of Pakistan he may not follow orders. Conclusion: The Niazi was too high in command and was better a battlefield martyr than a pivotal figure in world history.
