Step 1: Craft a water bucket and a netherite pickaxe Step 2: Locate the lava source Step 3: Take the wrapper off the lava with your pickaxe (the lava tastes better with out the wrapper imo) Step 4: Mine the lava with your pickaxe and place it in the water bucket for easy storage. Step 5: Take the cobblestone out of the cobblestone generator (the water bucket) Step 6: Let the cobblestone cool for a couple hours, or until it is still slightly warm to the touch Step 7: Eat up! These homemade cobblestone bites are delicious and are great for the kids! My three boys love these simple cobblestone bites, and are quick, and delicious breakfast snack to give to them before they go to school. They can last up to a week in the fridge, but they won’t last that long in our house!

I'm intrigued that the lava doesn't stick to the pick thingy. I figured the intense heat would fuse them together or something, but it looks more like the semisolid lava just slides off as it cools.

The lava is still well below the melting point of the steel in the hammer. The kinds of bonds between atoms are different in metal vs rock, so I wouldn't expect them to fuse.
