I feel that sometimes it takes a few attempts to get things organized in a way that works for you. Great job Karen!

Karen, you did really well with sorting out your cabinets in the bedroom. I think the spaces will come together over time, everything just needs a short period of adjustment where all your things naturally find a space that feels right. I find the bigger the space we have, the more we tend to accumulate, especially because once a pile of stuff accumulates it tends to draw other piles of stuff towards it. Have you thought of putting Robins desk under the window now that space is free? You could then move Robin’s little cabinet to the right hand side, that way you’ll have more space to get into your closet. Cheering on Robin with the bathroom and looking forward to seeing his progress. I do hope your ill family member is feeling better too. Still sending positive thoughts to you all. Take care. 🤗

The Lord definitely used you in this video. I've prayed for something to motivate me. I had a hospital stay a while back and since then my bedroom is out of control. Thank you for sharing this. I think I just don't want to start because of the mess it will be once I do. I have so much dust, too. There is nothing to do but to do it. It won't start out pretty. Love you, Karen.

I would do my crafting in the basement. My grandma always did. She kept a heater by her table for winter and a fan for summer. Or do your crafting in what used to be the dining since you only use it once in a while. Store your craft supplies in that buffet/sideboard.

Hi Karen! I love the light and all the windows in your new bedroom. How about this... All those small furniture you got placed in a row, take ALL of them out, sell them or give them away. Then right a letter to Santa and tell him that you want a nice large/high cupboard with closed doors (a bit similar in size to your closet in the old bedroom) in the same dark stain as the closet doors to hold all of your and our husbands office and crafting stuff. You can place the cupboard either in the middle of the wall between the closets and the first window or on the other side of that window. Put it in the middle of the wall not pushed to a side or corner. The file cabinet? Does it really need to come up to your bedroom? Both that and other more seldom used stuff can perhaps stay in the basement, in the same area as the booksheves with your husbands books. Make it neat and put all the seldom used paperstuff that needs to be easy axess in the same space. I would take the TV out and get rid of the furniture it stands on since I dont like TV:s in bedrooms but everyone is different. You room would be less clutter if you mount it on the wall. To get rid of all these small furnitures would give a calmer not so bizzy room and it would be so much easier and faster to clean wiithut all the flat surfaces and stuff on the floor. The stuff you put in the upper shelves in the nook next to your bed can also go in the cupboard. On those shelves you could put nice big baskets, pretty ones and keep bulky blankets (or overflow) and stuff like that. I really like the sofa at the foot of your bed, it gives a cozy vibe and is an excellent reading place, and as you mentioned it has practical reasons to. And if you have stuff on your bed like pretty pillows etc that you take of while sleeping they can go on the sofa instead of on the floor. Perhaps moving it a tiny bit so that there is some air between it and the bed. Add some cozy light and you got yourself a sancruary.

Some birds, like chickadees, stick around during winter. Watching birds eat in snow when they are all fluffed up to stay warm might be an enjoyable treat and maybe a good reason to keep a simplified bird feeder over winter.

Have you thought about putting that unit that you empied by your desk and storing your makeup and self care products it it? Then you can use a portable make up mirror and use your desk to apply your makeup. It will be easier clean up at the desk area to convert it back to "desk" mode. You'll have better light for makeup application and gain a shelf in the cubby area. I think it will create joy anytime you can sit by the window - LOVE your view! (or use the empty unit to store craft supplies.)

I HAVE to do my dishes every day (at least). I live in a studio apartment so dishes are in my face if I don't. A 5 min pickup is also required. I do have a walk in closet and (true confessions) I tend to shove things there. I usually reset it once a week or so. You did the big rearrange, now it's the finer organizing. You'll get there! 🌻🍄

Nice job! If you could fit the clothes you have stored in baskets into your closet that would give you quite a bit more room for more makeup or crafts on the middle shelf.

You knew it was time for a second pass. I am constantly taking 5 minutes to tidy and reorganize an area. If i can't find an item immediately in a drawer or cabinet, then it's time for a tidy and a declutter. I also keep my supplements in my nightstand, as I tend to take them before I go to bed. My son is moving home from college mid-December (graduating), which means I am losing my office. We'll see for how long. We are due for some home renovations, hoping to wait until we are empty nesters. Taking our 3 bedroom 1 and 1/2 bath to a 2 bedroom 2 bath, and making it handicap accessible while we are at it. I just need to have patience.

Always consider a large piece of furniture for storage to eliminate small pieces. It will take thought to figure out what will work best, but it will help give your room a more restful, cohesive look, and that's part of the goal. Don't hesitate to ask for the help of a friend who is good at organizing and decorating. Inexpensive used pieces can be found at thrift stores and on-line. Or, handy husband with a background you've mentioned in carpentry might be able to come up with a build. Perhaps extra wood, unused, might be put to use. Good luck in eventually creating your retreat for tge two of you!
