Labelling items for whoever will inherit them is such a great idea! That would have helped prevent a lot of conflict in my husband’s family after his aunt passed. She told certain people verbally that they should have such-and-such a thing but never wrote it anywhere, so quite a few items were taken by different people. Ideally, our relatives would be mature enough to not fight over our leftover stuff, but that’s not always the case. 😬

Karen, glad you had a beautiful time at the Florida wedding with your sisters and that you have had some time to chill. Also, it was nice to see a bit of basement decluttering keeping things on track right up to Christmas season. You really are doing so well with the photograph project and tidying your decor. I am proud of you as I know you find the photos project a bit of a grind to get through. As for keeping on top of the tool shelves, if they are anything like my husbands they will always need a refresh and re-sort every so often, even when they have been fully categorised. Personally, I find decluttering tools and DIY supplies at least twice or preferably three times a year helps to keep them neat and in check. I love that you are so positive despite having so much to organise and get done at the moment. You really motivate me with your beautiful spirit.

So wonderful that you got to spend time with family. I just donated three big bags of stuff, I have been decluttering my house since 2020! Still amazes me how much I have let go of and there is still more! Your basement declutter reminds me to keep going back and reevaluating.

I'm in Maine too, that's why I clicked on your channel. I've been on a decluttering journey since the summer. I'm making pretty good progress, but I haven't started on the cellar yet. Well, I did start on a table. I still have a few parts of my main living area to do, cupboards. Videos like this are so encouraging.

Karen, So pleased that you've started the photo sorting. You're doing a great job. It is amazing how many crappy shots have been kept over the years. Just decluttering those will make for serious sorting ability. Always love to see you working in the basement. Glad you and your sisters had a great time in Florida. Cheers

Every little bit helps when sorting photos. I'm glad you had a good time with your sisters. When you get to our age things don't matter as much as experiences, especially with the people you love. That's what will matter in the end.

Hellooo Karen, lovely to see you, I figured you’d take a little break from filming, sometimes you just have to be in the moment don’t you. I totally get how you feel when you’re with your sisters, I miss my two sisters terribly,my brother too. They were such a blessing in my life and I pray I’ll see them again one day. I too have declutterred a few more pictures,it’s amazing how many blurred, over exposed, thumb in the way pictures I’d kept! Still more to do but just chipping at it bit by bit. Wonderful to see you and as always my dear friend much love and light to you.🥰🥰🥰🥰

I have an antique cake plate that has been passed down from daughter to daughter. When the time comes I will pass it to my daughter. If she decides not to keep it, all I ask from her is to keep it in our family.

I for one am glad you took a break. I always worry about you when you pump out a video every day or so. Plus, I've already got a backlog of Vlogmas videos to watch... being a subscriber can be stressful too! 🤪

I was sad that you tossed the photo of you with the two boys. Even though you couldn't see their faces, you were in it. To me, that would be more important than having a photo of myself. But that's me. haha. Great to see you back, I am glad you had a great time. Leo and Woozi are so cute. Loved that you inserted footage of them. Sending hugs and charged batteries.

I sorted mom.’s pictures when she died. She had so many from cousins but they all had their own. So I made a pass of worthless or people we didn’t know and tossed them first. Then I made piles for my sister and brother of thei own families. They also probably has those same pictures at home. Then I tossed my families that we didn’t want and ended with one box. My sister in-law died within a few years and my brother wants nothing so what seemed important to my mom quickly was not important to most of us.

Observation, not judgement but....I'm from the UK and I just do not understand all the seasonal decor you have in the US. It's just such a lot of stuff you guys seem to have to keep. It's just not our culture, although it is starting to creep in....which in my opinion is probably not such a good thing. However, we are also a materiaistic western society and we have a lot of material possessions, so your content is useful anyway. Thank you.

It hurt my heart a little to see you toss the picture of yourself with the 2 boys backs to the camera. Maybe it “has no value” in them being visible but LOTS of value for being a picture of YOU when they were small.
