THIS MIGHT GET UNIVERSITY March 28, 2018 Grace Helbig & Mamrie Hart 4321 First Street Los Angeles, CA 90210 Dear Grace & Mamrie, The Admissions Committee has carefully reviewed your combined application to the University of This Might Get. It was a real first that two people applied as one entity. However, after much consideration, we regret to inform you that we are unable to offer you a place in the Class of 2022. This year's applicant pool was the strongest in the University's history. Therefore, we are unable to offer admission to every worth applicant. We recognize this letter might come as a major bummer to you. Nevertheless, we encourage you to make your future educational plans with the same enthusiasm and initiative that led you to consider us. We appreciate the interest you have shown in the University of This Might Get. Best wishes as you pursue your educational and Hollywood goals. Sincerely, Michael Goldfine Dean of Admissions and Financial Aid

Right? It feels like they still don't know who they want to be speaking to; the fact that most KZbin watchers are really young must make it so tempting to pander, but these are two grown ass 30+ year old women with mortgages and shit (like myself) so episodes like this are a real letdown.

If you didn’t get into a four-year college or you don’t know what you wanna do: community college is one of the best resources we have. They’re not for stupid people. They’re for people who need some time before a four year, OR a person smart enough to take general education credits for WAAYYYY cheaper than a four year!
@itsmusicechoes6 жыл бұрын
And if you didn't take the SAT or didn't do well, the community college credits help you get into a university later on.
@Alevermor6 жыл бұрын
Also, the first two years at any university here in the US you have to take your gen ed (you can take AP classes in high school and if you don’t fail the exams like I did, you can bypass this) which is basically high school all over again. You can either pay $30,000 + for that at a university, or go to a community college and pay maybe about $1,000? Then you transfer to a university as a junior and only need to take your major classes which are actually fun, if you’ve chosen a major you’re passionate about.

It’s kind of fucked that in the UK you can get a conditional offer for university but then universities can turn around at the last minute and be like “nah, mate, sorry you got a C in History and not a B so now you need to go to a university you’ve never heard of that you found on the clearing website”.
@mangohamper6 жыл бұрын
That's what happened to me it sucked, and you have to call through clearing while upset and wondering wtf you're doing with your life haha

What?? That’s crazy. Basically the only way an acceptance can be revoked is if you get in really really big trouble

Passing notes! What a blast from the past. It was a main function of my daily jr high and high school life- maintaining "critical" correspondence with friends throughout the day with doodles and specific folds. Damn, the folding techniques and the decorations on the outsides. Spilling your guts or cheering up a friend. And those must still exist somewhere! The simultaneous horror and delight. 0_0

Failed my last year alternative high school version of Tertiary Orientated Program to abridge to College and failed by 4 marks. Teared up and geared up after many other efforts to finish last high school year, determined like that silver star not to break my resolve to apply at 29 years and graduate with a Diploma of Applied Science (Remedial Therapies) at 31. Now working at a big Uni/College performing administration duties, my heart always goes out to those who are rejected because I always believe in the benefit of any education. I love This Might Get so much, and this is my favourite episode so far (but the crypto one is a close second!) just because of how well they deal with stuff that sucks. Being rejected in any capacity sucks, but Grace and Mamrie make something genuinely funny and helpful out of it. Bought a Bob the Builder piñata, for my son's birthday party at his preschool. in MY day, your tia made them out of paper machia, yeah, make a joke here, and you could whack them apart pretty easy. This thing would not die! The kids all wacked it with sticks, nothing. One teacher brought out a softball bat from her car, she got no where. Finally we had the preacher, (It was a Lutheran school.) get out his golf club, a wedge, and go at it. It took that poor man about 3 minutes of pure power to knock it off the tree. Still NOT broken. The school maintenance man, brought out a box cutter, and cut it up. The grown ups just reached in and throw candy around for the kids. Yeah baby, make it rain that candy.

I’m like Grace only applying to one school in NJ except I didn’t get a full ride I wasn’t that great of a student grade wise. I only applied to community college, one undergrad school, and one grad school in all my college years. First off, didn’t have the 💵💰for a bunch of application fees (why the eff do you have to pay to apply?!) and second, I was too lazy to look into any other schools. College is a nightmare (well for me it was bc I went undiagnosed with adhd until I was 26) and I’m so damn happy I don’t have to do it anymore.
