She went from growing up in a council house in South Wales to releasing some of the most iconic songs of all time. Bonnie Tyler’s rise to fame would sound like a fairytale if it wasn’t all true. And now, for the first time, the Grammy-nominated songstress is sharing her fascinating journey in her new memoir ‘Straight from the Heart’. She joins us to tell us about the defining moments that launched her career and why Whintey Houston asked her for an autograph.

I’m of the older generation and Bonnie (Gaynor Sullivan née Hopkins) is one year older than me…. I remember her singing when she first started…”It’s a Heartache” in 1977….I love her husky voice…and I also remember the classic with Shakin Stevens “It’s a Rockin Good Way”…she has sung with Meatloaf, Rod Stewart and so many others….one of Wales finest..❤️🎶🇦🇺🇦🇺

I never forget when i was in the hospital at 6 years old 1978 and a girl in the bed next to mine had a freestyle with Bonnie Tyler and Its a heartache and she borrowed it to me it was so amazing and i have loved Bonnie Tyler since then ❤

I remember Bonnie from way back in 1977 when she came and performed at the Hagley country club, which is just up the lane from where i live. It was a huge honour to have a huge star perform so close to where i live. she's great.
