Really nice gesture about choosing American words over British ones when it came to driving terminology

Thanks!!! I try to use the most common term - whichever it ends up being! ☺️

An enjoyable and informative video as always. I've rented cars 5 times in Japan now, I really love driving around the Japanewe country side. One thing to remember is the 0 alcohol policy in Japan that is a bit different than the UK!

Oh yeah it’s super strict and not something you often get told! Also, 5 times! Think we’ve only rented a car three times now - once was a long journey in Hokkaido which was fun - I hope to go back! Thanks for the comment Natalie!

Good info. In the US, you get the international permit from AAA. I needed it to ride the go karts in Tokyo haha

If you rent it in an international airport in Japan, usually there's a booth in the airport to help you renting a car

2:30. Drivers from France Switzerland etc. don’t need an international driving licence BUT they need an official translation of their license in Japanese

Hello. Watching from the US. Thank you for this helpful video. I am going to Japan soon and planning to rent a car. Would you recommend getting insurance with the car rental?

It was super easy! And the lights were the same - maybe not with the red/amber combo that we have before green, but same otherwise!! Would definitely drive in japan again!!!

I will be driving for 1 day from tokyo to mount fuji. Renting car from toyota rent a car in shinjuku. Most people fear driving in japan is because they cant speak japanese cant make out the japanese words on the road marking and roadsign.

Love the road explanations. I love tunnels, but living in Los Angeles for over 20 years make me wary of them. I know Japan builds amazing resistant structures; did you experience any significant earthquakes this trip?

Excellent content as usual, but the town's name is たかやま and not たけやま. It is four straight あ's. You pronounce the second as an え.

Wait, what? Belgians do not need a permit in Japan? We even need one for the US :p We have to get ours at City/Town Hall. Yay Toyota :) My parents have always driven Toyota Cars. I have my grandma's car in use atm, she can't drive anymore, but her car, my mum's car and my dad's car are all a Toyota Yaris as we call them here, basically the same one as you had there in Japan. I always find it so weird how even the brands logo's or even the name(Vauxhall in UK...is Opel here... :p) can be so different in other countries. Like, your rental car had such a weird logo on the front of the car, but on the steering wheel and on the back it just had the regular Toyota logo...? And the model was called Jewela or something? so so weird to me :p And confusing, why do they do that? :( Just make it the same for like everywhere! Sorry for this late reaction, catching up on videos again :p Hope you are doing well xxx (also: I applaud you for just driving in Japan as if it's nothing...you do obviously have the convenience of them driving on the left hand side as well of course :p ...I don't even have the guts to drive from where I live(Limburg) to our Coast(West-Vlaanderen)...that's about a 2hr drive...but we usually have to pass Brussels on the way and it is SO crazy and busy there and people drive like lunatics there so ...Nope! :p I tried driving part of our trip to DLP once... didn't even make it for 1 hour drive and it's a 4hr drive in total haha :p BUT in my defence: I just was in a lot of pain, because of my condition, I just can't drive that far at once...)

Oh yeah I remember Opel!!! I was so confused when I went to Germany and saw the Vauxhall logo but the words "Opel" next to it! Oh and I love driving in other countries ... but driving in South Korea was stressful! I think it was just the city I drove in .... but wow, that was tough!!!
@Liezjeuh4 жыл бұрын
@@thisNatasha :) weird, isn't it? Oh dear... I could never... driving in America would even scare me because of all the HUUUGGEEEEE trucks and lanes :p I'm just not the most confident driver. I'm not a bad driver, I'm just too scared :p
