Rented a car in Japan and this is how it went (Expressway, ETC, Gas)

This is a great video on how to rent a car in Japan! I have a few questions: 1)Are the tolls expensive in Japan? 2)How much did you pay for a full tank? Curious if the workers understand english. Planning to rent a car and drive up to Nagano from Fujikawaguchiko. Thanks, buddy!

Thanks! 1) Yes, it's relatively expensive. At times you can get a discount, like when you travel late at night (0 AM to 4 AM). For longer drives like from Fujikawaguchiko to Nagano, they could range from ¥2,000-¥5,000 depending on the route. We found a Toll calculator that can help. www2.kumagaku.ac.jp/teacher/~masden/tolls/ 2) We got a Yaris, so the full tank was around ¥10,000~. Unfortunately, some may not speak much English, but they usually know basic words like 'full' or 'cash/credit.' Safe travels and enjoy your trip Nagano!

1 day Rental costs us around 7,000 yen in total. Insurance is 1,650 yen per day.

the endless confusing road signs and street markings (only in japanese) you need to have a minimum knowledge reading japanese characters. if you get into any traffic violation get ready to pay a minimum Y200,000. not worth the adventure unless you really need to get one.
