You might be able to fix the horn right, because at some point the steering wheel should be removed to repair the steering column. Obviously it shouldn't twist when the shifter is moved. Hole in exhaust looks like an easy fix. Bunch of little things to plug away at yet. Doin' a great Job!

u can adjust the bands in the trans should be bolts to tighten them change ur shift and a modulator adjustment will help it for sure

Maybe put a big magnet on the outside bottom of the trans pan to catch metals. Back in the old days they didn’t run pan magnet’s 🧲 isn’t there a vacuum modular on those!! If so u can adjust w/straight screw driver

Had a car that the horn would blow every time you turned the wheel. There was a bare spot on a wire for the horn inside the cap on the steering wheel. Just wanted to pass that on to you. Another great video. Please keep them coming.😊

Turned 70 the other day, been working on cars since I was 8-9 years old, was pretty good by age 12 at general repair, building engines at 14-15 years old, but I still learn things watching you. Chrysler 727 and 904 transmissions have to be in neutral to check the transmission fluid level also the throttle valve linkage to the transmission must be set correctly or it will burn the transmission up pretty quickly.

Throttle lever wide open transmission lever full back otherwise rebuild will be necessary. Ask me how I know

Fun video, ty. In the 70's the tinted windows were a slight green tint. Clear windows would blind you on a sunny day. I made the mistake trying to save 20 bucks buying a clear windshield. Very bad move, had to wear shades to drive it and very hot. Sold it shortly after.

adjust your low/reverse bands and kickdown bands. I had to do that on my '85 Eagle. it was sitting for 15years beside a friends house. It uses the same transmission with AMC's modifications, but it's still a 727. The low/reverse band is inside on the left of the filter on the accumulator spring rod (you'll see the nut/screw). The kickdown band adjustment is outside on the drivers side. Tighten both to 72inlbs, then back off two full turns and tighten the nut while holding the screw. then test drive and see if it shifts better. mine shifts great after doing the adjustments. i also added some seafoam transmission conditioner and it seemed to clean things out. i also did two full fluid/filter changes just two wash out all the goo. I was glad i did!

My dad told me a trick with those clamps. Put some pliers in a vice and drill a hole in the end of the "jaws". That way the clamp has a groove to stay in and it won't slip out.

when you were working under the truck on the front brake lines I noticed that there was a can of something on the top of the front right spring and it was blue in color watch your video and you will see it's not the shock but behind it somewhere near the motor mount

I had a 84 Dodge Ram D350 with that transmission in it. I actually got it hot one day and it wasn't wanting to pull and had to do what you were doing to get home. Changing the filter and fluid did really help. Ended also up putting a separate transmission cooler on it. Those 727 transmissions are stout. They can take a beating and keep going. Miss my old dodge. That one reminds me of my dads.
