Mike, 1. Congratulations on reaching 10K Subs 2. Thanks for the TOHR - TTT [Top Tool Tip] for the Eastwood Screw Buster. It certainly is much better than the old school Manual Impact Driver that you have to pound with a large hammer whilst putting a twist load on it to loosen rusty fasteners. On yes, I still remember the 'knuckle rash' which was inevitable in using such a crude impact driver. 3. Here's to the next 1000 Subs arriving soon. 4. Checked out TOHR Back Catalog - loved the cruise videos - roll on Summer. 😎 Many thanks again. for sharing your project 👍👍

Your shop takes me back to when I started on my own. Your channel is therapy when I hit a wall on my own projects. Keep doing what you are doing, follow Your calling, trust your gut,,, people will come and go, so what. Keep rolling brother. I would trade that high value Cast Iron 2 speed for a good aluminum one or a TH350 just for the mounting simplicity, and drop in that early 283 for sure. But that's just me, you be you.

While I agree 100% on the screw buster....I have one. I'd point out that one should use the trigger sparingly....if you go full auto all the way thru the extraction you can push the fastiner through the backside of the hole....I did that a few times before I learn the lesson.

Mike you are just rockin ! I had one of these screw vibrators that I picked up at Hershey or Carlisle back in the 80s. It was just a guy selling the parts to put it together but you had to buy the hammer remover to get some strong bits. I don't remember how much but it was cheap at the time. I did my 41 Ford panel with it's help. I have no idea where it is now. 5 or 6 moves and things go missing.

I'm guessing the gas tank is separate from the cowl versus being part of the cowl (top of tank is cowl)? If so, instead of filling the fuel filler pipe hole, maybe add a flip up vent scoop? Oh, before I forget... again, Congrats on your 10K Dude. ;-)

What's special about the cowl panels? Are they rectangular or angles to deal with? Send me the size and I'll cut them out of scrap and donate them to you. How can I get my info to you? How thick is steel? 18 gauge? From one Mass guy to another, I'll have to visit this summer when I go to the Cape for my annual pilgrimage.
@ThisOldHotrod Жыл бұрын
They’re nothing fancy. I have a stockpile of metal sheet. I just don’t want to take the time on this car. It’s just quicker to buy lower patches. I also don’t have the correct bead roller dies to create the bead across the bottom of these panels. The dies are as expensive as all the panels combined. So nothing fancy … that’s just my reasoning.
@RusThompson Жыл бұрын
@@ThisOldHotrod OK, keep up the nice work. People see your dedication to building and attention for detail and appreciate it. It's not easy to find anymore. We are old school taught and ethical so thanks for that. Rus Thompson

Because the body is already connected to the sub floor. Not to mention the hinges are all torch cut. The windshield posts and headed are missing. Lots of reasons not to use the extra cowl.

Trash to treasure. Since you are going to sell it maybe not call it garbage? You are transforming it from that into more than a rusty relic. Each thing you fix is one less piece of ugliness to the future owner and increases its desirability. You have taken it a long way already , I think close to being over the hump, approaching where someone might normal start or better. 👍🏻
