When this came out, Fifty Shades of Grey was still a huge thing - it's about surrendering to someone - giving in to passion, even if it's risky. This mv was very controversial when it came out. In fact it was pulled for one day because the scene with Solar in the elevator was longer and he was a little more forceful - so the company cut a couple of shots. Btw, fruit has a sexual connotation - so exploding fruit represents....you know.....

I think that the “one guy” represents fame. As a group each member must create their individual relationship with what that means, but to an outsider it could be seen as a shared experience. As far as the title of the song and visual concept, I think it is a statement on what it means to be part of something that is greater than and yet very reliant on the individual parts. Decalcomanie, Wind Flower and Paint me will forever be my Nr.1 Songs of Mamamoo. Bc i could never bring myself to decide what is the "best". This Band is so unique and i love them with all my heart. When i saw them live, even just from the distance and for only 20 min, i cried and couldnt stop when they havent even began singing :D out of joy tho, obviously. These Ladies helped me so much. Decalcomania is a decorative technique by which engravings and prints may be transferred to pottery or other materials. A shortened version of the term is used for a mass-produced commodity art transfer or product label, known as a "decal". Korea took the word and kind of uses it to refer to people who look alike (mirror images). For example, Moonbyul/Hwasa and Solar/Wheein did a “decalcomanie” scene in the M/V. So it's mostly used to refer to look-a-likes/reflections. And YES this M/V show be age restricted LoL ...OMG you didn't get the symbolism of the fruit "exploding" 🤨🤣 FYI no kissing happens hahaha

While it's the same actor it's not intended to be one guy kissing them sequentially. It's four parrallel experiences of a first serious kiss/sexual awakening. Mirror imaging again. And the fruit is a way of depicting them getting wet.

Fruit used as metaphor dear, they had to get around the censors. And no our fruit does not open, flowers do, but fruit does emit juices . In Korea the word is used as a mirror image thus the mirror scenes. I think this is more about being risky and going for it.

One of my favorite songs, the version to watch is the live Queendom version of this, it is over the top. The song is mainly about that intense passion when first getting with someone, each verse is explaining part and it is sexy, when moonbyul for example says she wants to see disheveled hair after giving into the desires but it is all reckless. One of them, I think it was Solar in an interview said it also is an underlying message about dissing the concept that a girl can only be a woman after hooking up with a man. The first release of this was not as bad as depicted, The guy presses solar against the wall and hold her wrist against it, and a bunch of pansies complained it looked like force. So they edited it out.

The added interlude was the weakest part of the video, the song flows a lot better without it (definitely take a listen to just the song, or catch a dance practice or stage performance). Fruits been used as sexual metaphors for a long time, along with the opening flowers, rose petals, etc. I don't think there is a ton of depth to video really, its just sort of the same mini-story from 4 aspects. I'd say that generally mamamoo doesn't do big stories with their videos, though there are usually some sort of simple lines. Genereally they're great music with something fun (or like in this case, maybe a reason to dress up). You should definitely check out 1cm (taller than you), and some of their other pre-release joke songs. Essentially they started doing a thing where they'd put out a fun video for a non-serious B-side shortly before releasing the next title track that they would mainly promote, and they're all worth seeing.

First off, get over the fact that the same male actor is with all of them. He's just a "generic male" - the song is about their feelings and he's irrelevant as an individual. Decalcomanie is one of many MMM songs where love, sex, desire and passion are dangerous, risky business rather than the PG Hallmark greeting card sentiments usually expressed in pop songs. I think the decal concept applies to the physical and emotional sides of love & sex - two pairs of lips kissing, two bodies mating, two people becoming a beast with two backs and merging emotionally. The squashed fruit and blindfold removal are symbols of sexually awakening and their first time making love. Imo the fruit is comically blatant, esp when the cherries are popped and the lemon is squeezed. Have you never heard Led Zeppelin's The Lemon Song? lol
