I just want to seriously say thank you sooooo so much for this. I was trying to make a bow with glitter ribbon and I watched like 800 videos but none of them worked because of the glitter. Bow tie is adorable. West Tennessee has been getting a lot of lightning but not any rain. I live in the flat part of the state and the lightning has struck trees down. We have been lucky and none of ours have been hit. We have a canopy of trees over our house so we have a lot of shade.

Yes, it is rather old method. My grandmother used to make them out of strips of fabric in this manner.
