For those that are unaware, Okoume is a rare wood blend that is not found naturally. It is synthesized in a hermetically-sealed clean environment. For John to achieve his signature tone, the blend requires even mixtures of woods from the cross of Jesus, the ship of the Viking King Ragnar Lodbrok, and the wooden burial mask of King Tutankhamun. The wood fibers are held together with an epoxy resin containing blood from Ludwig von Beethoven and tears from Dmitri Shostakovich, specifically shed while writing his String Quartet no. 8 in C Minor, OP. 110. This is what allows John to go into "world domination mode", a feat he was once only able to do with his signature Ibanez guitars. Thank you for coming to my TED talk.

It is probably a mistake on their side stemming from the fact that regular "Tiger Eye" Majesty models have alder sides, and so some mix-up took place. *other sources = other stores selling the guitar and even some videos from the NAMM show. They remain unnamed out of courtesy to Thomann.

Indeed there is a difference between what John says and what Music Man says. The specs as told bij Music man; The Purple Nebula Majesty limited edition (Limited to 200 guitars worldwide). Has a quilted maple top, alder sides, a three piece mahogany neck with flamed maple in the center that you can see through the burst. John says; Full maple top and sides made out of Okoume.
