"In my life I can tell you not many people have been kind to me, she was one of the few". Those words really made me tear up. I was surprised Thomas was affected that much by Sybil's death. I knew they worked together and she was always kind but I just figured Thomas was indifferent to her. Seeing Thomas the cold & scheming bastard genuinely hurt by her death was really moving.

0:48 this scene was so heartwrenching...he looked so broken there. I just wanted to give him a hug and some hot coffee to drink and say "you'll survive, my boy." And it's a lesson for us all...when we see Thomas so broken in this scene, thinking that his life is over and he wont get a job...what he doesn't know is that everything got better for him later on in the show... We often do not realise that dark moments in our lives are just that...moments, they will pass by and we will get out of it. There is light at the end of the tunnel indeed and every tunnel has an end.

I just noticed that Thomas thought about going to Bombay to his cousin, he'd gone up in flames like a match being as pale as he is. Thomas is such a great character and portrayed so well. He was my favourite! And Jimmy was such an ass. All he ever did was get Thomas in trouble.

U have to appreciate Jimmy tho..even if he was against Thomas,he was his 1st real friend. Thomas cherished that and I believe that friendship helped him avoid his demons to some extent. It also makes us realize Thomas needed friends more than a lover atm

I love Thomas Barrow. Yes he had a nasty side but he was a troubled man, living in a difficult time and he deserved happiness and love. Things could have been different for him and it makes you realise how lucky gay men and women are today, even though it’s still far from perfect for us.

I hope that his life has turned a corner after he met Mr Ellis (in the Downton Abbey film) ... Thomas never deserved to be treated so badly simply be cause he is "different" ... How horrible life was (is) for gay men. I hope Downton has revealed that stark fact to many who never really knew. And Rob is brilliant in the part and Julian Fellowes' script is really at its best here.
