Fun fact about Thomas Dolby after his music career was over he actually became a scientist in audio engineering and some of the technology we use now he had a hand in creating

He invented Surround Sound. This song was his proof of concept.

@@dragonwood4562 Thomas Dolby (real name Thomas Morgan Robertson) isn't related to Ray Dolby, founder of Dolby Labs. Thomas Dolby company, Beatnik, worked in internet and mobile audio solutions and is known for Nokia polyphoning ringtones using their technology.
@chucku007 ай бұрын
Nope, he founded the company Beatnik in 1993 and worked as the CEO/project manager with engineers to develop internet and mobile audio processing tech, then came back to music in the late 2000's. But he never became a scientist.

Thomas Dolby is genius, one of a kind. Check out one of the most incredible songs ever, I Love You Goodbye. Also: One of Our Submarines, The Flat Earth, Budapest by Blimp, May the Cube Be With You (with George Clinton) and I Live In a Suitcase. All of these are 10/10.

This was a banger in the UK when it came out! It’s a classic! A lot of U.K. synth pop back then was 🔥. Mobb Deep sampled this too! The 80s was a great time to be alive. 😎💃😀

Brilliant song & production. Was just listening to Automatic by The Pointer Sisters & that could easily have been a Dolby track if not inspired by SBMWS!
