Hearns management was so afraid of Duran that knowing his weakness (food drink and party) they gave him $100,000 cash pre fight so he would party and train little. Hearns illegally held Durans head pushed him and then R uppercut him while holding his head resulting in a bloody cut at the end of the 1st round. The blood from the cut blinded Duran to a straight right that dropped and dazed him. From then on it was downhill. Hearns the best outside boxer and hardest hitter of the Fav four was in great shape for this fight. Hearns was an awesome fighter but had a glass chin. For Duran it was a very ackward fight with 6 inches height and 11 reach difference but Duran took on the fight no questions asked. Not like SRL who cherry picked and demanded terms. Duran has never complained about this ilegal tactic that caused him this fight !!!

Your excuses are your own, as they say. Styles make fights and Duran doesn't beat Hearns, period. And, I'm a huge Duran fan, picking him over Leonard and Hagler, but 'the hit man', had his numero.
