God, i wish to find a therapist that works like this. As an abandoned child my soul hungers to be seen deeply.

I absolutely LOVE the concept of the symptom containing the answer to the problem. It’s like something I’ve known but haven’t heard it explained in such a beautiful way. Fantastic! Can’t wait to read this book. ♥️

I love Thomas Moore. His books have literally have changed my life. But I do disagree on one point . The possibility of reconciliation with your family who have disowned you because you have left the family religion is not always possible, no matter how much you are willing to be open hearted, welcoming and loving. I left Jehovah's Witnesses almost 20 years ago. I have been reunited with family members who have left, but not all. For years I actively tried to connect with my mother, met with utter silence from her. I was only able to make peace with it when I listened to her obvious wish to be left alone and let that chapter of my life close

generally speaking, most prefer to romanticize life; those who don't seek therapy - or so it seems.

11:42 It is disturbing to me also the over medicating but not helping people to talk, reframe and come to new realizations about their experiences. Listening cannot be over estimated. ❤
