I just moved house and put _A Conflict of Visions_ on the shelf literally 3 minutes ago. This has to be a sign.

I am just hearing this for the first time today, August 29/24, and I find it absolutely amazing how precisely it aligns with my own independent thinking. I have been developing my own personal philosophy for years now, and I have come to the firm conclusions that the pursuit of a Utopian society (the unconstrained vision) is a hopeless path into Hell, while the institution of the systems of checks and balances of a well defined and regulated Republic (the constrained vision) can help to guard against the worst possible outcomes. This really is the battle between Communism & Capitalism. And there is so much that can be done to improve the Capitalist vision, not the least of which is recognizing that Adam Smith’s Invisible Hand requires Glenn Cox’s Restraining Hand to keep the Invisible Hand from picking its own pockets. That is, Capitalism needs safeguards to prevent a degeneration into Fascism through hoarding, monopolies, and political graft manipulating the free & open markets to gain unfair advantage and control. Yeah, I’m all over this, quite literally through the development of my own personal philosophy. I understand this, and see where it’s coming from and where it’s going to.

Philosophy is best viewed through the lens of freedom IMO. Through that lens communism fails instantly because if forces humans to accept what the government gives to the people. The result is a quagmire that strips humans of incentive to reach their own potential. Capitalism on the other hand provides the freedom for people to find their own path through hard work. And the bonus of capitalism is that it rewards innovation rather than stifle it. Communism = Too Much Government Control

I like the aesthetic of the show because it looks like nothing else exist to be distracted by except Tom Peter and the table and chairs. I bet if you get invited on the show they ask you not to wear green. It could just as easily be a blue screen so maybe they don't have to police your attire if they can change the background between green and blue screens
