No, you're wrong too -- as he's a liar and a hypocrite, and I can prove it. But his disciples are so preoccupied with putting him on a pedestal and praising his "principles" -- that they flagrantly fail to follow them (just as he did on the issue in question). "Following facts" that go in the direction you desire -- doesn't count. Anybody can do that. Would one "one of the world's greatest intellects" flagrantly ignore irrefutable evidence of mathematical certainty to help manufacture a war in the Middle East in the aftermath of 9/11? I wouldn’t care if this guy cured cancer: You don’t get a pass for basking in baseless beliefs that cripple the country - and have the bottomless nerve to preach responsibility & accountability to boot. THAT is a cancer of its own. The poison he pumped into the atmosphere helped destroy the internal organs of America. So we have very different standards as to what qualifies as a “National Treasure.” “Water is Not Wet - And I Stand by That”: onevoicebecametwo.life/2022/04/09/water-is-not-wet-and-i-stand-by-that/

I used to think he was a sell out. I admire him now. He was the voice of reason that dragged me more to the center of the political spectrum. I was so radically left I demonized capitalism. I read , “Wealth, Poverty, and Politics,” and I’m reading his book, “Basic Economics,” and it’s totally changing the way I think about civilizations, human nature, and the importance of a free market. Highly intelligent. I can’t say many people have motivated me to change my mind about politics like this intellectual. I still respect Richard Wolff, Yanis Varofakis, and Noam Chomsky for getting me interested in politics. But this man covers all his bases and explains difficult concepts in plain english like no other. If anyone has any recommendations I’m open minded enough to look into it. I’m in my 30s now and I’m trying to understand the world, trying to prepare for end stage capitalism. Ray Dalio’s book, “Principles for Dealing with the Changing World Order,” was another eye opener for me. We can’t just hate and resent the rich. There has to be some common ground. A lot of us are spoiled and take the modern luxuries we have for granted. The grass will always be greener on the other side.

He is selling old stuff with no new thoughts added. This is 1950s economic/political theory. You know, Milton Friedman, Ayn Rand & Co. Didn't work then and probably won't work now. But please be sure you buy a tee shirt from his web site.

I can't get enough of Sowell. Why his teachings are not mandatory reading in schools in this country is a disgrace.

It’s a great tragedy for black Americans that Dr. Sowell doesn’t have the influence of Al Sharpton. Imagine how much better off as a people they would be.

I pray that Sowell will live for another 10 years which is a really selfish wish, but our world needs him.

Sowell’s declaration that schools aren’t responsive to parents is simply misleading. Here in the US school policies are set at the school district level and parents play a crucial, if not decisive, role in electing their local school boards. The idea that schools are run by distant non responsive bureaucrats is just plain wrong.

Seems to fit the experience in Manitoba Canada, even though we do elect representatives, require nomination, and campaign, working class person doesn't have time for that, so just another group speak intellectual comes in. Sowell really does buck trends

They should have put in modern, current clips in which his genius shines through up to today. Unfortunately all the clips are from the 80s, as if the man is being remembered in memoriam. Sowell is as much alive today as he was before and still speaking profound things.
