This was my grandmother’s snuff. “Nanny” would pour a lip, spit once in a bean can, and never spit again until after she poured another lip. We buried her with a can. She would always have the small can in her purse and I swear a damn quart can in the house.

Yeah my great grand ma was the same shed talk and dust would come out for the first minute or so after she'd put it in and she used the small snuff can as a measurement for how much to put it

Bought a can of this back in 1988 when I was 15. Had been a daily Copenhagen user for a couple years by then. I knew what it was, remembering an old codger from the barber shop probably 10 years before. I sneezed my ass off for about half an hour. Took it to school the next day and got a bunch of other kids to gag and sneeze. Then I threw it out and never tried nose snuff again.

That is the snuff my Grandmother dipped in the 70s. You used to be able to buy it in a small drinking glass, that she would transfer from the cardboard topped glass to an empty snuff container like that one, that she'd keep in her apron pocket. We drank water in those small glasses, of which she had a whole cupboard full of those and laundry detergent glasses. The old timers didn't sniff it. They would use one of those small wooden icecream dippers to scoop it up and put it in their lip. She attached her "Dipp'n Spoon" to the side of her snuff can with a rubber band. 😊

This is the brand of american dry snuff sold in my area. It was the first nasal snuff I tried when I was 18. It was under $5. I have a can right now, it was around $25. Taken with a controlled pinch, it is a fine snuff with a distinct flavor. Its nicotine level is hard to match with most other nasal snuffs.

I purchased the sweet version when I was a kid, in the red can. I was expecting something like sweetened Copenhagen snuff. I even dug off the top layer thinking it was just a thin covering over the product (like the paper on a plug). Man, was I wrong. I took a spoon full and did a cinnamon challenge style dip of it. Actually quite tasty, sweet, with a rich tobacco flavor, but extremely dry. Went ahead and snorted a dollop as well, pass on that. I need to re visit it. Looking forward to the sweet version review.

Very nice. This is one of my regular snuffs along with Bruton and Dental, Superior and Square. Great smoke, even being here in nc it is hard to find this particular one but easier to find Dental and Tube Rose. Not sure why. They were in a cardboard tube in the 2000s and switched to plastic in the 2010s then around 2019 went back to the cardboard and rebranded them Classic. I have yet to find any with the Clarksville address yet, but want to know if anyone has.

Bought this last week in Kentucky. First snuff I have tried. Really like it, both dipping and sniffing it. Barbecue taste for sure, but not too sweet like many straight dips. A dip lasts about 3 hours it seems. Starts dry. Then gets moist on the outside. Then it picks up again. Fell asleep with a lip in and woke up and it was spitting dark brown 2.5 hours later, eventually the dip just was gone from my mouth, still seemed to have nicotine and flavor at that point. Very enjoyable but not what I expected,a bit sweeter. I chew red ox, wild duck and futurity twist daily.

You say dry snuff can’t go bad. In the 70s I chewed it all. Browns mule. Blood hound. Days work. Cannon ball. Apple. Black Miria. Levi garret and dipped my grandmas tops sweet then in the 80s Copenhagen because it was easy to carry on the job but in 2015 I went back to powdered snuff. First dental sweet then tops sweet. I have used Tops. Dental. Peach. Bruton. Navy. Whatever they use to sweeten the snuff goes bad. I’m pretty tuff but the last glass of tops I bought I couldn’t dip it. I had to go back to chew. One pound bag of southern pride just jumped to 19$$. They said they can’t get the dry snuff anymore. Ingles has a few middle sized cans for 50$$ that have been setting for years. To much money for me. I would like you to taste fresh snuff then older snuff. Big difference. Have a happy dip.

Copenhagen Snuff is noseable, but it's kinda too gritty for regular use. Now snus from stronger and drier portions is way more nose-friendly, really enjoyable and doesn't differ from moist nasal tobacco neither in terms of texture nor nicotine delivery. You can safely try it with General White or stronger dry portion varieties.
