It's cause Walter saved him even after he did what he did and he isn't vengeful anymore because of Walter's mercy. It's brilliant if you think about it sucks we won't ever have a sequel

After Lance Sterling blew his entire crew to heck, he probably saw the agency as nothing more than murderers. When Walter demonstrated his willingness to not only sacrifice his life to save others, but to save his *enemy*, he probably started to realise that killing everyone in the agency, including people like Walter who had no intention of taking a life, may have made him no better than what he saw Sterling as.
