Katherine Adair That's awesome. I have friends who have similar music influences with their kids. But I still have no idea how any of them could do what Julien Baker does. It really makes a great case for reincarnation. Like she was a 20-something who tragically died in a car accident in 1995, listening to Dear You, on the way to band practice. And the shit just echoed...

Pretty much every sentiment shared by every other person who has commented...I've been watching this over and over again for the last week. It's so overwhelming I just didn't even know how to compartmentalize it. I've never commented on a KZbin video. I rarely comment on any internet conversations but this? Man this is just to good. And this person should be complimented over and over for the performance. Just fucking stunned. Another middle aged skateboarder that grew up on Jawbreaker and the like. Blake in my opinion has penned some of the best songs ever no doubt. And having seen them on the Dear You tour and also 21 years later at Riot Fest a couple of months ago (such a great surprise) I can say that the band has not lost a bit of what I've loved about them for the 30 last years but this kid. Absolutely insanely well done rendition. Maybe I'm just getting old and soft but I just might dare say I like this better than the original. And I now want to punch myself in the face for saying that. Seriously on the fence! End of the day both are amazing. Love Jawbreaker, Jets, Thorns, Forgetters, basically everything Blake puts his voice to but good goddamn Ms. Baker. Mad respect and you just gained yet another new fan. The best to you and your career. Thanks for making me cry more than I care to admit. It's great to get it out and you definitely opened the waterworks with this!

Brilliant. Beautiful. And Haunting. I agree with the earlier sentiments. Thank you for posting this. It truly is a salve for the forgotton lot of us, stuck in a limbo world where we were too young for hair rock, but too old to be Gen-X. This music was our identity. This was our voice. These were our songs that we cherished and took hold of in our souls. Some of us never forgot that feeling. While we all grow older and more disillusioned with the world around us, it is a comfort to know that in the world there is still young people out there that take the time to reach out to us, even if just for a song.
