Hiking and landscape photography go very well together, but it is not always the grand vistas that draw me in and get me inspred. Often it can be the very ground beneath my feet that inspres me enough to unpack my camera gear and take a shot. In this video I start the day slowly in my camper van before undertaking a beautiful day hike up Great End and Allen Crags. The photograph you see in this video has been altered quite dramatically and I will go in to more detail about that in my next video. See if you can figure out what I have done differently.
Here are some stats from the day- Distance: 15.58km. Time: 6:45:35. Ascent: 2887ft

I've come to appreciate the beauty of a hike more and more. I can easily spend hours out in the wilderness without even taking out the camera. A scene needs to connect with me in a way, else it's going to be forced and I wont be happy with the result. From what I've seen it seem to be the same for you. It comes across in the video anyway, that you are at peace with what you are doing and you know that even if others will think differently it doesn't really matter because what in the end you're doing it for yourself first and foremost. In simpler words, lovely video Thomas!

Nepal... Well now I'm excited and have to wait 10-11 months wait for that video! Can't wait to see it, and Nepal's one of the top places I want to visit in the next few years. Unfortunately altitude sickness can be a bit unpredictable... I've slept at 12,000 feet problem-free in Peru only to feel like an absolute wreck at 13,000 feet a few days later. If I were you, I'd spend a few nights at the highest elevation I could manage in the Alps within 2-3 months prior to the trip to acclimate as much as possible. That photo of the ice & rocks looks like a painting, if that was your intention. My guess on the modifications is that you, after cropping it, horizontally narrowed it to exaggerate the waves in the ice and make it look more like it's flowing from top to bottom, and then brought out the reddish colors in the rocks quite a bit more than they appeared.

Love all of your images and videos and I always watch them, like them and I subscribed of course, but doesn’t it get annoying only shooting during golden our or blue hour? Aren’t you inspired enough by England, Scotland and other locations to create an amazing photograph during normal daylight hours? You should do it a few times just to show us how you handle those types of images. It’s all your own choice at the end of the day but your attitude is sometimes strange in regards to taking photos for the love of the craft and profession. My opinion is my own and I’ll always watch you anyway like I said. Just take more pics! 😂
