My last day of landscape photography in north west Scotland. I hiked up to a beautiful pine tree in the Beinn Eighe Nature Reserve and got really lucky with some fleeting mist and fog which really helped simplify the scene and add atmosphere to my photograph.

I hope Pholaborate works out well for you. I hope even more that it doesn’t mean you’re going to vanish behind a rather pricey paywall. It’s far beyond my means. The material you’ve been providing via KZbin is greatly appreciated. With your extensive video production background you’ve gone far beyond the level of quality usually found here. And, your presence on-screen has grown to be among the very best in natural and direct one-on-one communication. Thanks for what you’ve contributed and let’s all hope there will be more.

So inspiring Sir Thomas Heaton. From Miami, FL your vids not only teach, but inspire us to view the world around us, to explore, to extend beyond our preconceived boundaries to capture an image aside and beyond the iconic shot but to make it our own as you do so masterfully. Thanks for making my life richer as a photographer but as a human being in this immense world we are privileged-to live in. God Bless

Great to see that you got back to that Scots pine - it's a beauty! It felt a bit weird to just walk past it while we were there but we had work to do and you certainly had more atmosphere (and midges) :-) I can't wait to go back for the 5th time!

Its not always the rain and the cold that make getting the shot difficult, its those bugs. I've never been to Scotland, but those midges seem even worse than the small black-flies we have in Ontario's early summer. I was also surprised by the choice to go B&W. Thanks for putting the effort into making these videos!

Ah I know that tree well, spotted it in April last year when I was up and could NOT get it separated or get a composition. How lucky (I know, you make your own luck by getting out there) to get it in mist. It’s a beautiful spot. I’m hoping you got yourself down to Liathach and Glen Torridon while you were there too. Some great spots around there that I’m sure you would do justice to.
