What feature is important to you when comparing the two saws?

Having the tune correct on the gas saw. Which it obviously wasn't.

I think it is a draw … 😉 as you forgot to mention the quick draw hook on the DCS-2500 which is a really cool feature for arborists.

Cool video! When on the job most people don’t have a charging station available so gas is still king but battery saws are getting better and I do enjoy running mine for small stuff! I only have experience with the 36v makita tho!

Depends on the charge, if it can last the entire job. It’s nice not to hear the scream of the gasser. After Hurricanes theres no power for many days so the gasser would win unless you’ve brought a generator. Or own a F150 powerboost

Being able to modify the gas saw is a plus is a plus as well. With a simple muffler mod and base gasket delete, that little saw rips. That being said, being able to pick up a saw and not have to worry about tuning a carb is nice as well. May want to factor in the price of a second battery ($150) for the battery saw.

I guess the big advantage for electric is that you don't have to worry about dumping fuel all over it. Bar oil, I don't know. Does it have an auto-oiler? I use a Dawn squeeze bottle for my bar oil. I should label it. It looks like soap. I have looked for and never found a satisfactory fuel dispenser. They should make one with a syphon pump.

The Sure Can normally works well. I didn't release the stopping mechanism fast enough. Both of the saws have auto oilers or clutch oilers, so no need to add your own as you cut.

Do you have a table out in the woods to start it on? A saw horse also? Does this guy really know how to use a chainsaw?

Mark I'm a home owner looking for a small chain saw but Ican't decide between the Milwaukee M12 battery pruning saw or the gas Echo C-310. Help me out here. I'm not cutting down any trees just some branches here and there
@MarkThomasBuilder
@MarkThomasBuilder Ай бұрын
That's a good question. If you're considering the gas ECHO C-310, then I'd say you should check out the Milwaukee M18 Hatchet, which is the bigger version of the M12. It's a closer comparison. If you're a homeowner using the saw once in awhile for limbs, then I'd say battery is a better choice. If you're cutting down trees, then I'd say go with gas.

You're supposed to take it off the high idle immediately after starting. Might want to learn how to cut straight too. Keep practicing you'll get it

I am definitely in the fuddy duddy camp, but my battery powered tools always seem to let me down vis-a-vis battery life, etc. A chainsaw definitely needs power and usually in cold weather. Gasoline for me.

Thanks for sharing. I like battery for the 5 minute projects and gas for everything else.
@corpsman247
@corpsman247 Жыл бұрын
You prolly have cheap battery tools then. Typically most battery tools have matching or more power. Some tools don’t but they are getting closer. Just look at battery powered cars. Way more power and faster then gas.

Always set the chain brake when starting. A good habit to set the brake after each cut.

for someone unfamiliar with a saw I would agree with that but once you have more experience I would advice against it because throttling the saw with the break on wears on the clutch. It's not major but if you do that every single time you start up your saw that adds up quickly.

The gas saw did NOT need a new chain. It just needed an actual real man to sharpen it 🤦🏻‍♂️
