I work at a casino where they play music videos all day/night long. This song comes on from time to time, last night I saw that one of the older employees was mesmerized by the music video and the song, I said to her “good song, huh?” I didn’t even know who sang it or what it was called. She asked me if I knew and I said I didn’t. So I shazamed it for her and I caught the attention of other employees and they all said thank you to me because they were wondering what the song was as well. It was a pretty wholesome moment because we all had no idea about the artist but loved the song.

The fact that country is now this beautiful mix breed of music proves that these artist that were once just being introduces to the "country" genre are now proving to be true musicians. Now don't misunderstand me when I say that. They have always been musicians but to me I think a musician should have no set genre. Music is music. Genre is just a word to organize songs into categories that would most fit the listeners listening style. Music is ever changing and we don't like change. But if you can take a song, slap a country tag on it, classify a sub genre into it such as pop or rock then your not only appealing to one specific style of listener but creating a new fan base of different listeners and creating something new and awesome... so why not?

Apart from the dumb poppy dubstep beat in the second verse (which I have only heard on this video version), this song is one of the most tasteful country songs I've heard in awhile. I'm a die-hard country music fan and i have been really disappointed in what has been called "country" in the 2010's thus far, but i am starting to hear a little more hints and signs of traditional country songs. Songs that actually have some soul and meaning to them and this song is one of them.
