Hi Thomas, thank you for the sincere reaction. She is amazing, the song is amazing, the atmosphere is amazing. I must also add that her live performance is way better than the studio record. If you like her, you may also like Özlem Tekin- Kargalar. She also has a very powerfull voice. Years back, she was in the same band (Volvox) with Şebnem Ferah.

Hey Thomas, you're pretty close in your interpretation of the lyrics, but there's something that doesn't quite get across when translating to English. She's not just taking a stand, she's expressing extreme defiance. "Gel bir de sen vur" = "come on, you hit me as well". She's singing about having fallen, been thrown down, run over, and harmed. And she says "come on, you can hit me too!". It's defiance in the face of having been wronged by everyone. And she's saying to someone significant "why should you be any different?...go ahead hit me with your best shot!". In that context, combined with the tempo and tone of the song, makes it very powerful. It's more than defiance, it's expressing something stronger. Hope this helps some.

I was going to write similar things, especially about defiance. She is proclaiming bulletproofness in her call for another hit! Also of significance is Sebnem's really strong feminist stance, especially in her early career. So this song is also written/performed as a radical upheaval from a women's point of view against a possible "intimate" relationship within the patriarchal structure that keeps on tearing her apart, and any man, whatever they profess to hold as intention (liking, caring, etc) will end up tearing another hole in her soul. Her rebellion is against the assumption that this can undo her!

ok fair warning: Because Turkey is kind of a swiss army knife of cultures, people will request a lot of unrelated stuff too. So be careful if you're diving into this blackhole. My suggestion for the next vid would be: Pentagram - Lions in a Cage(Live again. And you may want to know what the song is about too. Interesting stuff..)

Thank you my friend for such an amazing reaction video. You've got the essence of the song absolutely correct (about standing against the world etc). And while reading the comments below I realized you were generous enough to give a heart to every comment even though they were in Turkish. You're such a gentle soul, really really appreciate that. My suggestion is a great Turkish band called Pentagram. They and Şebnem are the same generation and coming from the same roots. And also very close and long time friends. Even the Guitar player in this video (Metin Turkcan) is also the guitarist of Pentagram. They're a metal band but İ'd like to recommend a song from their acoustic show. The song iş called "For the one unchanging". The Singer of the band Murat İlkan iş like a male version of Şebnem. He's in the same league with Bruce Dickinson, Geoff Tate (Queensryche) and Michael Kiske (Helloween). Once again thank you for this amazing reaction. You are the best. Cheers from 🇹🇷.
