The appetizer you ate is an ancient Thai food that is hard to find nowadays. The first type of rice cracker you ate was my favorite when I was a child. When I was a child, my grandmother often made it for me. Everything you eat is called royal cuisine. My grandfather used to be a close aide to King Rama VI and my grandmother was a palace girl. So I learned a lot about the palace from my grandmother. Not far from where you are walking is an ancient Portuguese community. And there is an old Christian church. This Portuguese community is an old community since before Bangkok was the capital. And this area was also the old capital before Bangkok was built. As you know, Bangkok is called Krung Thep Maha Nakhon by Thais. Which was originally called Bangkok. That's the name that Westerners called it since ancient times. Our old kingdom was Ayutthaya. And the Portuguese village at that time was in Bangkok. It is near where you are walking today. So there are not only Chinese and Muslim cultural communities. There is also a Christian church. And it is one of the important Christian churches in Bangkok today.😊

I forgot to mention that the Portuguese village here is now called Kudi Chin Community. Most of the ancient foreign villages were in the old capital of Ayutthaya. But here in Bangkok on the Thonburi side is a community of Portuguese-Thais who migrated after Ayutthaya fell.

The last bar you stopped at was called Ang Yi. Ang Yi means Chinese secret society. If you compare it to something you can understand, it is the Chinese mafia. 100-150 years ago, Thailand had very strict laws regarding Ang Yi. Ang Yi was created by Chinese immigrants who formed an association to protect the interests of overseas Chinese. Later, when the number of people increased, it became a criminal organization. They also rebelled and seized cities. So the area with the most Chinese people is Yaowarat. What do you think will happen? Yaowarat has only become a tourist attraction for less than 40-50 years. Yaowarat was the center of Ang Yi before. Some rich people in Yaowarat used to have connections to Ang Yi in their fathers or grandfathers.

9:21 There are temples and shrines in the Chinese religion. What you've visited is a shrine that was built by Chinese people in their community. You will find a number of Chinese shrines in Phuket. There are about 10 Chinese temples that are considered famous Chinese temples in Bangkok, FYI.

In Ayutthaya, there is a story that a Muslim Imam invited a Buddhist monk to sit on the back of his motorbike to take him to the temple, because he was old and might not be able to walk very well. They had been friends since childhood and did not think that religion would divide people in their community who had lived together for hundreds of years.
Chinese and Muslims live in the same community in harmony is very good for this land. How'bout westerners living in one area surrounded by muslim community and they live in peace? That is in Pakred district, Nonthaburi. It's like the movie' Green Zone' That is the expat town called 'Nichda Thani' in Soi Prasert Islam. That's another level and definitely - Thailand only.
