this series is just so immensely valuable, and only thorin could really facilitate it. there are a couple other sort of serious thinker / journalist / analyst-y sorts of people who would also do a pretty good job, but the way Thorin can launch into things that would ordinarily be kind of touchy-- public perception of a player, awkward incidents and/or bad situations in their careers, being a "choker", etc.-- is just sui generis. he kind of reminds me of being a Speaker for the Dead (from the Ender's Game series): trying to give the most fair accounting of the person-- both their strengths and their shortcomings, their successes and their failures-- possible. helping them tell their story the way they want to tell it. which is the absolute crux of both great history/interviewing and great journalism.

Also how he adapts to whoever he interviews. For well-spoken and talkative interviewee's, (like Zven and Jankos) he gives them room to talk. For those who need it, he steers the conversation more actively and helps the interviewee express themselves.

They way you "interrupt" him when he goes "and then the next year..." and you go "Here is the question..." ITS SO FUCKIN GOOD. I realize it takes years of interviewing to know how and when to do this, it was almost as if he wanted you to jump in to guide his narrative. Thorin, my man. You are a gem. It’s honestly kinda funny that Zven is asking fans to just give him time when in that time he’s only given us c9 fans back to back LCS championships. If this is what your doing while scaling up take all the time you need. Seriously I hope to see this c9 team stick together cause they could establish a dynasty at least when it comes to LCS domestic play. Which honestly is all I can hope for from c9

This is such a weird dichotomy with LS. His favourite region is LCK, while his mentality/thought lies in playing untraditional things. The way Zven puts it makes a lot of sense. If he was going to do this kind of a team, he CANNOT have any LCK players, they just fundamentally disagree with how he thinks the game should be played.

Think zven is above rekkles. Rekkles doesn’t really have the longevity, and this year he looked mega washed. He also is not easy to work with and has won a surprisingly small amount of titles for how long he played.

I kept saying the same as Zven. LS could be a great coach, but only if all 5 players respected and trusted him completely. That is why he will never coach again. And if he does he will most likely not be successful. The stars would have to align for LS. Doesn't take away the fact that he is extremely knowledgeable.

The team was supposed to be nemesis mid and fudge top. Pretty sure that’s what LS wanted. Fudge and nemesis would obviously agree with him, blaber is actually quite open minded ( ls said it himself), so only the botlane would potentially be an issue, and at that point you can kinda “ bully” them into agreeing with him cuz they are a minority

I love how Sven is like, I dont get these nerfs of champions I never see, because bad people cant deal with them. Im kinda good at the game, so I dont see their problem. First this means the majoritxy of players have the issue. Second just think about those champions, and think how you counter them easily. Then imagine people dont do it or dont know how to. Then you might see the problem this champ has for worse player

The no sneaky no worlds thing was understandable. Jack himself even alluded to it. It was common knowledge that licorice was a big driving force in driving sneaky out of the org, and sneaky was a huge brand and a huge part of cloud 9( had played for them his entire career) and the way it was handled wasn’t good. It was also kind of a meme because it first started with “ no doublelift no worlds “ I believe because at that time zven had played for tsm who had never missed an lcs finals or worlds before and they missed worlds both years he played for them, and then c9 had also never missed worlds. Zven himself embraced the meme later on
